My EOS should arrive by end of May. I've seen one EOS on the road so far. The dealers here only seem to have Black & Essence grey in stock.
The brochure says you can have Blue Mer de Glace (Eismeer) & Red Nappa, but it lies, VW turned down the combination. So I went for Gris Perle (Island Grey) - got to have the Red Nappa.
I also had to put up with 17" Le Mans as VW don't give the option for Chicagos or any other 18" wheel. The wheels don't look bad though just not as special as the chicago.
The next 2 months are going to go by slow waiting for her to arrive

I'm really enjoying the forum & all the words of wisdom ;) etc.

Lets see a few more pics of all your EOS.

Hello
what made you decide for DSG? I have ordered TDI DSG as well, for the comfort mainly...
I decided on DSG after researching the technical aspects. I like automatics for their laziness. But don't like the lack of performance they give or the increased fuel consumption. Also normal autos are often very jerky on changing gear.
The DSG isn't like a normal auto. It is a twin clutch double gearbox. Gears 1, 3 & 5 are in box 1 with a clutch and gears 2, 4 & 6 are in box 2 (not sure where reverse is) with a 2nd clutch. Some clever electronics make the changes for you either in auto, auto-sport or manual.
The DSG change is so smooth, very very fast and has only about a 10% increase in fuel over a manual box. I think the choice is a no brainer unless cost is a factor.
After deciding on a TDI, I thought about the TFSI but decided I would rarely use the extra 60PS & would rather have the better fuel consumption and lower insurance (costs me 300Euro all risks). Regardless of what the TFSI owners say, in the real world - speed limits & mixed roads, I don't think they would loose a TDI on the road and I would pass them anyway when they had to stop for fuel.
The DSG was my next must have. I wasn't able to test drive a DSG but everything I read & was told made me believe I wouldn't be dissapointed & I'm certainly not.

You must make sure you order the multi-function steering wheel with paddles (Code 'PM3') to get the best from the manual mode. It's a lot of fun if you fancy being a pretend 'Alonso'.
I recommend also getting the 'Hill hold" as this stops the roll-back on hills with the DSG (code 'UG1').

The DSG is perfectly matched to the TDI & dealers in England & France both reckoned it suits the TDI even better than the essence engines.

You won't be dissappointed with the DSG.

If you want to cruise then auto is really smooth & very lazy.
If you want it sportier the auto-sport mode really let the engine rev well.
If you want to be Alonso then manual and the paddles are real fun.

I've also got the Dynaudio. Coming home tonight I had 'Dire Straits' playing at half volume, Turned up to 3/4 & nearly blew the windows out. 600W is a lot of power when the roof is up.

I'm more impressed with my EOS each time I drive it. It really is the best out there.:D

a big thank you for that detailed answer! cant wait to be Alonso ;-)
I was planning on purchasing the hill anti roll back or whatever it's called, and the sales rep toldme it was absolutely NOT needed when I ordered so I removed it...

When VW/Audi's DSG first appeared a couple of years ago (was it on the Golf GTI or Audi TT? I can't remember) the authoritative car mags all reckoned that it beats other paddle/self-shifters hands down and this was THE way forward! Since then BMW have copied it and pretty sure plenty of other manufacturers are working flat-out to dissect it and make their own copy!

Furthermore - in 'Autocar' magazine this week there are more mentions of the DSG box:

A developent of the DSG box is fitted to the Bugatti Veyron (the world's fastest, most powerful and most expensive car), and here's what is said about it:

"The Veyron isn't defined by its performance. It's defined by that double-clutch gearbox."

"...it is the single most impressive component ever developed for a production vehicle."

Also in the same magazine they report on an Audi TT Convertible DSG, in which the gearbox is once again highly praised "The TT's transmission is superb"

There's no doubt about it that if a semi-auto/auto transmission is what you want then this is the one to have!

Have driven one and they are good - Traction controlled starts in a 3.2TT are an experience, and you head hurts from the thump as it hits the headrest!

It still surprises me that when you switch to sport the gearbox changes down 2-3 gears but you don't feel a thing!

Still not sure I would buy one though - will be expensive to fix when it breaks.
