Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be a half twist in the seat belt on the driver's side seat belt assembly that doesn't need to be there?

Is it not just there to ensure that you have simple transport and that the tongue is facing the keeper? Had not thought about it before

Just carefully pull the seatbelt out until the section that has the twist in it comes off the roller in the door pillar and then let it slowly retract. :D

I have the same twist in only my driver side seat belt. I took my car in for another issue and pointed this out to my VW tech at the dealership. They said they hadn't seen that before and that it could be fixed. I opted out of that work for the time being...

I had the same twist in my passenger's seat belt (drivers for Europe and NA). Missed at delivery by the dealer.

half-twist in seat belts

I just bought my '07 as a new managers model a few weeks ago and both front seat belts had this half twist issue. I had the dealer correct both for me at no charge. I'm not sure why the manager didn't notice it when he drove the car, but I assume that if it was meant to be there the technician would have let me know before correcting the problem. I had checked other cars on the lot and they did not have this issue.

sydeos and shockwatches are spot on with their posts. This 'fault' can easily be corrected in 1 minute by pulling the seat belt out and allowing it to retract with a twist.
My EOS developed a twist recently, easily rectified in seconds.

I had the same half twist issue and the dealer took care of it for me last time in after 10 months and 19k miles. They tried to unwind it but had to take apart the seatbelt assembly. All good for now.

Got it a few times and learn to correct it myself per the process mentioned earlier. It's a design flaw that allow this to happen. Slow down when you unhook the seat belt and letting it retract. Had not experience it for a long long time since.
