I was wondering has anyone changed tyres and are now using run flat tyres?
Especially in the 18" size. How do they perform and do they make the ride rougher?

I agree with maxscience. My wife has a Mini Cooper and we replaced all 4 run flat tyres today for standard ones. The ride on run flats is very firm and they tend to pull all over the place under acceleration. i know of many people who have changed from run flats to standard tyres but not the other way round.

Did some price research, its also a lot cheaper staying with normal tyres. And it can be difficult to get RF tyres on weekends.

My brother in law had run flats on his mini cooper and he now has a ruptured disc in his back! he's sold his mini cooper for a golf fsi now instead :)

He did say they are expensive :)

He must have forgotten to pump them up. You're still supposed to put air in them!!

I've Continental runflat on 16" wheels and are really noisy!

I'm thinking in changing them but I need a spare wheel.

Is there any safety wheel that can be bought? Where is the place to keep it in the car?

thanks & regards.

There is space in the boot for it under the hardboard base. The tool kit should also be there.
