Has anyone seen the headlight washer function on their car. I had that on an A6 and I could see a little over spray when it was working. I could not prove mine is working on The EOS, never seen any evidence. Just curious. I think I read it works every fifth time the washers are used. I've tried to catch the fifth time, even stood outside and hit the washers but did not see it.

base/NA turbo/opt v6/standard

Did not realize it was an option. I may not have it. The front has the cut out for it, just like the Audi, but it does not pop out, or I have not seen it.

For the US market, the Eos does not have headlight washers and were never brought here.. If they would have, you would have had to order the BiXenon headlights only available on the V6 as an option(part of the Technology Package).

The washer is included with the luxury pack or winter pack in the UK it certainly works well. The first time you use the screen wash it washes the headlights and you can see the spray from the washers in the beams. It only happens every 5 uses of the washers. Does make a hell of a mess on the bonet and wings though.

Don't know about the USA but here in the UK the h/light washers are part of the lux pack. They work the first time the washers are used and every fifth time after that, but they will only operate if the h/lights are switched on.

I have them as they come with the Xenon lights (by law!) but must say I thought they always worked when you use your screen washers with the headlights on.. But they are really powerful when you do that and if you do it, say, stopped in a traffic queue the spray goes all over the car... If you're moving at a decent speed however they just wash the lights.

It's news to me that they work every fifth use. Does it say that in the handbook?

Just the normal standard headlights, could not afford xenons nor could I justify needing extra light.

Cheers

Then you don't have the washers?
In France. Xenons have washers by law.

The standard lights don't have washers as standard unless they are part of an upgrade package or as an option.
Don't care what anyone says the Xenons rock. At night there is no equal. At speed seeing further around a curve is also useful as is the turning light in town.
Agree they do cost too much though.

I asked Graham that question as I was uncertain as to whether you could have the sprayers without the Xenons. I agree that Xenons are quite good. I drove a friend's Benz that had them and that made me wish I could have them. We can't get an Eos here with the sprayers and can't get the Xenons unless we order the VR6 and that is just to allow you the privilege of ordering the Xenons as an option. Now THAT makes the Xenons an expensive option. Otherwise I would gladly have paid the $1400 US they cost. Only bad thing is that they can be blinding to oncoming drivers if the alignment is wrong.

Hi Andy,
Something is wrong if they blind oncoming traffic. They go through a self test mode each time their switched on. It's fascinating to watch - I am sad.
Sensors on the axles pick up if there are rear passengers or weight in the trunk.
It's a much better system than normal lights where the driver adjusts for loading manually.
If I am slow to dip them, oncoming traffic soon tell me though .

The blinding I refer to is when coming quickly over a rise before the lights can adjust or certain models of Acura, Lexus, and BMW that get you with their light pattern toward the side of the road. It is ok immediately in front of the car but murder off to either side.

Yes, vans and tall SUVs tend to do that. Imagine how bad that can be if those lights are Xenons. I've been one of those victims in my Eos because it sits so low.
