Thought I would just say hi as I have been looking at the forum a while and should get my Eos this coming Saturday all being well :)

I've had VW's for over 12 years now including 2 Golf cabrio's so the decision to get the Eos was fairly easy. The most difficult part was finding one to my specification.

Looking foward to the joys of ownership!

Welcome to the club. So your a seasoned convertable owner, once you pick up your Eos you can let us know the main differences enjoyed / hated between the two versions of roofs.I certainly would find that interesting.

Cheers

Hi Graham,

Thanks, Will do, It will be interesting to see the differences between the late model (mk3.5) golf cabrio and the Eos. Might also do the same for the Mk1 GTi cabbie and the Tiger Super Cat (7 replica).

I see one of the VW was GTi, not take bad with the TDi rather than the TFSI? or just for the economy?

Went for the Tdi for economy rather than performance, i've got a weekend car for that after all :)

Looking at putting a removable towbar on the Eos so I can tow the tiger to trackdays when needed.

The Mk1 GTi was ok but had wiring issues and could have done with a total rebuild.

Yep so you have. Hopefully all goes well with your delivery date. Waiting is part of the ownership experoience of Eos ownership. You appreciate the wheels so much more.

Cheers

Welcome SimonV. I see your not far away from us, so look forward to seeing you when we get a midlands meet organised for sometime soon. Still not sure where it ought to be though. Suggestions from anyone up here would be helpful.

Thanks Gary, Will try to get to the next meeting provided it is over a weekend as I work in Hampshire during the week.

A drive over to the East coast may be an idea when the weather gets a bit better?

Sounds good to me. Hav already suggested Whitby (for fish & Chips!). Good drive but maybe a bit too packed with people the nearer summer gets. Not sure where we could all park up either. Hunstanton would be good but bloody awful drive over there! Somewhere in between the both would be ideal and of course agree it should be weekend.

Think we should avoid Skegness but how about Chapel St Leonards? Think there are some fish and chip shops there and somewhere to park?

Hunstanton would have been good. Been there on some Pistonheads meets with the Tiger

It will be worth the wait though. We off to Dubai for a week of R&R so will check in again on return and perhaps sort out somewhere for a meet

Thanks for your replies. I have a courtesy car at the mo ( a beetle :)) and am awaiting the arrival of my new toy.

Finland is warm for this time of year, which is nice......

I will get to enjoy the car for 2 days before going to Hong Kong for 2 days.. never mind....
