hello to all, i have just moved into murrieta, ca and i am looking for a new Eos and i have a question about the dealers. if they do not carry what you want in stock can you still go to them and see if they will order for you what you want? For example i would like to go to http://www.murrietavw.com as it is quite close to me but they only have the Eos in automatic transmission and i would like a manual. sorry if this is an ignorant question but i don't know how dealers work here. should i visit them and ask if they will order a manual Eos for me?

thanks for your time.

Hi Amani

Generally an authorised dealer may order the model you want, but of course that is if the model you want is for sale in your country. On this site you have the views of many from all round the world. If you have decided on your particular choice because of what you have read on this site (hearing a recommendation of one in the UK or one in Australia) it may not necessarily mean that particular specification is avaialbe, you are best getting off the daler a brochure.

There are plenty of US members on this site who I'm sure will be able to tell you what you can and can't get in the US (they probably know a lot more than the Dealers...!)

Can you get manual Eoses in the US?

I'm pretty sure I saw a manual transmission Eos at my dealer in Glenwood Springs, CO. Most dealers in the U.S. would prefer selling you a vehicle that they have in stock. If not one they have on their lot, then they will try to trade with another dealer in the area, in this case, San Diego, Orange County or Riverside. They will search the inventories of all the dealers in the area to find an Eos the right color and transmission and options that you want. If all this fails they will order your vehicle. They may tell you that they can't order it, just tell them that you will only settle for the one you want. You can also bargain with them if they find a vehicle that is close to what you want and you will only buy it if they give you a discount for taking something you don't really want.

When I went to buy my 07 Eos, there was one at the port of entry (Houston, Texas) that was just what I wanted except that it had 18 inch wheels and I didn't want to pay extra for them. When I refused to budge, they gave me the wheels free just to move the vehicle. Now that I have the car, I find that it is about the most perfect Eos for me.

Amani,
The answer to your question is yes you can get a manual trans in the Eos in the U.S. You can only get it with the Komfort model. The other model is Lux and only comes with DSG. If your dealer can't find you one you'll have to order soon before the 2010 model starts production. There is no word yet on 2010 options for U.S.
