Hi,

Seeing as I just replied to a thread, thought I should introduce myself, so here's a quick hello.

We ordered a while ago an EOS TDi sport in Pearl Black, due to begin build on Jan 8th to replace my current baby, and MG ZT-T (4.6 litre V8). Hoping I see an improvement in fuel economy:eek:

Hi, and welcome to the club. I'm sure you will love the Eos and you will get better fuel economy but won't you notice a huge difference in performance from your current car?
Don't know if I could down grade power now.

Cheers

Yes, just a bit less powerful... Used to own a hugely manly TVR Tuscan S though so pretty much anything is less power since those days!

One of the reasons we went for the eos tbh, was because we missed those top down motoring days from before we had kids.

Hoping we've made the correct decision - I've always bought British built cars, never had a VW before (well a 1981 VW Polo doesn't count!).

Anyways, thanks for the welcome, we'll be sure to contribute where we can :)

Ah, Tuscan S. I used to have a TVR Chimaera. I've been dropping down the power levels since then. Unless you go to a track, you really can't make sensible use of the power on UK roads.

Well, I own a PearlBlack 2.0 TDI with DSG, and I just love it. Of course it does not have the nerve and sound of a German V6 or italian V8, but it's just different... It's about confort and pleasure, slow motion and discovery, rather than about muscle and power...

For sure a better vehicle from a pleasure perspective...

welcome!

Good taste!

I have a 1965 TVR with a Mustang 289 cu in V8 - awesome but I don't get to use it enough.

Just thought I'd say that we picked up our new EOS on Saturday, a full month early. From what the dealer said, we had previously thought it would arrive just in time for an 08 March delivery, but seeing as it turned up early we thought we might as well pick it up early.

Early impressions are great, had some troubles getting the boys child seats installed in the rear though due to the bucket design of them...

Hope you don't miss that lovely V8 beat too much..! Or have you still got the MG?

Yes, missing it loads, on the other hand driving home from work last night I managed 51 mpg rather than the 15(!) mpg I used to get.

Means more money to spend on other stuff! :)
