is this water leaking problem. I am very much in the market for a 4 seater convertable and the Eos so stands out but I am very worried about this problem. On one hand it's the What Car best convertable but on the other hand you here about this issue everywhere but then I guess owners will always use a forum to voice such issues ?!, so maybe making it sound worse than it is ?! I am even considering buying an A4 convertable instead.
Please.
Opinions very much appreciated

Usually my car sits in my garage. However this past weekend we were in Nashville Tennessee and the car sat out overnight in really heavy thunderstorms and I amhappy to report no leaks. I do use the special lubricant on the seals. This is normal maintenance anyways. Hope this helps you decide. Ours is an 07 we've had for 19 months.

As you have said - you'll always hear from the people that have leaks, not from those that don't. I don't think the EOS is any worse than any other convertible - and they certainly haven't ever halted production because of it (eh, Ford!).

It's a fantastic car - I've have mine for a year and it only ever leaked a couple of drops once during the heavy rain in the UK last year. That was fixed with a quick application of Krytox.

Mine has had a minor leak, which (touch wood) now seems to be sorted. Having said that, it hasnt bothered me at all, the car is utterley fantastic, and if I knew then what I did now, I would still buy the car again. Don't let it put you off. Its a stunning, stunning car.

You can't beat the Eos for a hard top. No leaks here either (MY08).

I have had mine for 13-months now. The only time I see a "dribble" is when I take it through a high-pressure car wash. I know, not supposed to do that...sometimes I just gotta! I absolutely love my Eos and the only thing that might keep me from recommending it is.......I don't want to see too many of them on the streets! So, no...don't get one!

That's it, lets keep them special - discourage buyers with
It leaks
It creaks
It rolls backwards
Bits fall off (black thingys)
You get sunburnt
Costs too much
Leather is too hard to clean
You reverse into things - can't see - dangerous
VW is going discontinue the model
ALL the reviews are wrong

BUT I'm keeping mine.

Me 2, its a pants car and leaks like a sive, it rattles like hell, the refinement is rubbish, the radio reception is cack and its the ugliest 4 seater on the road.

I've had mine for nearly 2 years now.
No leaks at all. Not even in the monsoon that drowned Hull last June. Nothing. No other problems either! Get one!

I, like you, was panicking when I discovered posts about leaks AFTER I had ordered my car. Everyone put my mind at ease and I've had mine about 5 weeks now.....no leaks at all - not a dribble! (Mine's an 07)

Seriously considered an A4 and a SAAB convertible - same price on our car scheme. Chose the EOS on the grounds of:
1) Ride - A4 rear mirror moves continuously implying scuttle shake on all roads I tested. SAAB was as rigid as the EOS.
2) Sunroof - for the days when the roof isn't down, this I feel is the killer argument
3) Boot - more useful (depth and height) - can put dog in boot box with ski hatch
4) Rear seat leg room (extra 1/2 inch for my two boys)
5) Cup holders - well I commute early and like a green tea on the M40
6) Rarity - counted 15 A4 cabs the other day, about 3 Eos/week (I used to drive a VW vento!!!)

Given, the A4 was quieter on the road, but the shaking mirror, on an 8-year old chassis design, really would annoy me. The SLine suspension was much harder than the sport EOS. I'll let you know about leaks when it arrives this week.

Go for the Diesel, but also get the automatic. It's the smoothest auto box i've ever driven.
Make sure you acknowledge other EOS when you see them. All the drivers i've seen around Reading don't seem interested.

Being in Reading too ;) I've noticed that no-one in an Eos even wants to look in my direction? There was a lady in an Eos in the drive through McD's where we are and she was right behind us in the queue. OH was driving so I turned to give her a smile and I got a sort of frosty glare back! I pass loads and loads every day now :( or :) and on the M4 this morning they had their tops up?! I've got a tan from driving already :D
