Sorry if this has been covered before but I just don't get on with the search thingy, it always comes up with "no search results found"

Anyway as the header says, I want to get one of those all singing, all dancing DVD Sat Nav TV Bluetooth units off ebay but want to know how to get the chrome surround off the dashboard around the stereo. I can only fons a walkthrough with pictures for a Golf.

Anyone fitted one of these aftermarket units on here, be interested to hear your comments if you have.

This is the one I'm thinking of getting, there are many different models to choose from but this one looks the most "factory"...

The silver surround simply clips out so the only issue is getting started. Once you get a small part out you can complete the job with your fingers.

I used a paint scraper tool and teased it into the gap at the bottom (on the basis that if it left any marks it would be least visible). I was equally nervous when I first tried but managed to do it without sustaining any damage.

Once the chrome surround is off it's a matter of 4 screws to remove the original unit.
