I have a question regarding the Automatic Dual Zone Airconditioning. If I turn off the system when it has been heating the interior, heat still comes out the dashboard vents - is this normal? In the "old days" you just turned the heater off. Do you need to dial the temperature that you want to be the same as the outside temperature first and then turn it off?

Have you tried the buttons?

Have you tried the buttons that control the flow direction.
For top-down I just have the cool air to my feet. But top-up it fulll auto to air everywhere.
You can also slide the lever to off on the vent.
I've got mine set to 20C top-up & 22c top-down. Works great for me.

Drove from Marseille to Uttoxeter yesterday. Left at 01:00 & arrived at 16:45. Total of 1450Kms no stop (except for fuel & coffee). Top-down from 08:00 onwards. The windblocker is fantastic if you havn't got one.

These cars are great at long distances and almost everything else except perhaps carrying golf clubs, but then I don't.

My wife has a Golf V with Climatronic which is easy to turn off. It is the dual zone climate airconditioning that I have in my EOS that is the problem - I do not know how to "drive it" correctly. Yes the wind blocker is terrific - it makes the heater very effective.

Hi all,

Sorry to go off topic slightly but what does, 'Happy EDAs' mean Jim?

Don
Hi Don,

Happy Eos Driving Adventures :)

I saw it on the Vortex so I stole the idea.

As soon as you get yours you'll appreciate that very drive is such fun in your EOS. Brings a big smile tomy face everytime.

By the way it's Adventures in the best sense, their all good.

Happy EDAs,
Jim.

Hi just checked mine. Too hot here to check the heating though.
I thnk auto only controls the heat level & also the fan speed. If I switch off the clima using the on/off switch all goes off.
If I turn off auto the fan still runs unless I turn down the fan rotary switch.

Hope it helps, but even reading the manual isn't very helpful.

Happy EDAs,
Jim.

Hi Jim,

I was on the right lines as I had Eos Driving sussed. So looking forward to joining the Eos Team. But will be next year before we can enjoy the experience.

In the mean time keep making me jealous with your EDAs.

I'm glad the term is being used, it just seemed to fit. Although it is used on Vortex, the term EDA was first used here on vweosclub. I created it with the post found HERE.

I was talking about a couple of trips we made in the Eos when it was still fairly new to us; saying we went on a weekend outing just didn't seem to do it justice. And since the "same trip" we made in the Ford Explorer (before we managed to sell it) was much less memorable, the car had to be part of the term. :)

Anyway, I hold no copywrite on the term, just thought I'd give vweosclub credit for holding the official "first use" of the term I made up.

lol

Happy EDAs to all of us. ;)

I'm pleased to see it started here. Seems more appropriate (friendly) if you know what I mean.

I just have the standard aircon but have noticed a small amount of heat seeping out of the dash vents if you just turn the dial to '0'.

What I do if I'm turning it off is just give it a few seconds of cold blast on setting '4' before turning to '0' and that seems to get rid of any warm air in the pipes and I don't get any more heat seepage.

Hot Air With Auto Climate Control Off

Off to the dealer tomorrow - will see what they have to say - maybe a fault with mine. It can be turned off for 15 minutes and then you can notice hot air coming out the vents.
