The 2008 2L FSI does have one, so would expect it to be present on yours - either bulb, switch or fuse - change the bulb first.
I forgot something
Does the 2007 Turbo 2.0 have a light in the glove box. Mine appears to have something there, but it does not light. Could I have a bulb out or is there no light--I saw one on the 2008 model.

US 07 models either had an aux input jack or no light fixture in the glove box.
could you be on about the aircon vent inside? its right at the back right hand side
