The orange one in the through luggage compartment.

I pulled it thinking it was a trunk/boot release but nothing happened. Fuel cap cover maybe?

And, hi everyone, we've had a new 2008 Black and Black FSI Manual Eos for a couple of weeks and love it.

I just asked the very same question about 5 minutes ago.

I've also just RTFM and it doesn't say.

I pulled it to and nothing happened.

.....Talking of which, when you open the rear seat armrest it come out totally right? It isn't hinged at the bottom or anything sensible ? Also, anyone know what the orange tag thing is for behind it?

Just be very careful about pulling on ring things, when you don't know what they do.

One day I managed to undo my bellybutton, and my bum fell off!

Someone trapped in an Eos boot is probably not going to find this ring pull because it folds and clips away and is pulled into the cabin. It is orange so it does look like its for some sort of emergency situation. I pulled it and there was no click. Maybe its an Australian addition and I should take a photo.

Page 93 in the Booklet 3.2 Tips and Maintenance

The boot lid can be opened manually if the battery is flat or there is a defect in the locking system.

Pull the release ring out of the holder and pull the ring in the direction of the arrow ==> fig 41 until the boot unlocks.

Thanks for that, bleeding obvious when I think about it. I thought I had read every page of the manual.

I had another pull :) but nothing happened, maybe I need to give it a fair old yank. I reckon I'll leave it for an emergency.

I tried mine at the weekend. Pulled it and the boot popped open!
