Was coming home from a party this past weekend and the entire right side of the car need all sorts of repair.
I saw a flash of something on the right side of the road and instantly saw it was a deer running at full tilt. I was currently on a two lane road and fortunately no one else was on the stretch of the road at the time. I swerved to the other side of the road and saved my car from hitting the deer head on. BUT, the deer hit the right side of the A pillar, side mirror, passenger door, right rear quarter panel, shaved a line of paint off the right side of the rear window, knocked my wheel and managed to whip around and crack the rear tail light.
I know our cars are small, and anything looks big outside the window, but this doe's head was up to the top of the car. Big for these parts of Georgia. Surprisingly you really can't see the damage, but right in front of the wheel there is a nice dent and the paint is cracked where the wheel well meets the quarterpanel. The deer hit me hard enough to knock the alignment out of wack to add insult to injury. Poor wife though, she had no clue what was happening.
It really sounds worse than it is, but I'm getting the smallest blemish repaired since I have a zero deductable for comprehensive.
The insurance company is repairing my Eos for $1543 and some change.
Was a close one though. I feel sorry for the person that hits a deer head on in our car. Look out everyone.
