Hi Folks!
Every Friday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution runs a feature in its ajccars section called MYRIDE. A local owner can contribute a story about his/her vehicle that runs with a photo.
A few weeks ago, just for the helluvit, I sent in the story about how I named my car along with a pic to the e-mail address posted at the end of the week's feature. I never figured it would run.
But today as I picked up the morning edition of the May 11, 2007 AJC, I noticed that, instead of the front page, the paper had been folded to display the ajccars section on the outside. And there, as this week's MYRIDE feature, was my story with a photo of Legolas, my Crimson (Paprika Red) VW 2.0T Eos.
As proud as I am that my car was featured, I 'm even more proud that the story ran practically just as I wrote it. I've had a few Letters to the Editor printed over the years, so I know from experience that the AJC's copy editors can be brutal.
As far as I know, this is the first Eos ever featured in MYRIDE.
BTW, just in case some of you may not know it: the title of this thread comes from the first line of the classic Beatles song, A Day in the Life. If you haven't heard the jazz instrumental version of it covered by the late, great Wes Montgomery, you haven't lived.
