Hi

Well after reading some of the text here about the snow and ice i was rather worried about how the car would handle and if i could get in.

Well it was fine i had got the de icer from the boot and prepared to spray if the car did not open. And what do you know it opened first time dispite it having a thick frost/snow on the car and the car having not been moved for 2-3 days and it being -3!!!

I drove the car to a friends place down an unsalted local road and yes the back did skid a bit but driving slow in a high gear it was fine.

Quite impressed though...

I find the real problem comes on un-salted icy roads when negotiating a very tight circle the car can lose traction easily and also the steering (new tyres). Just be aware of the potential problem. It happened to me this morning.

If you have the MF Steering wheel go into your options and select winter tyres there you will find +5 mph and -5 mph i increased mine to 125mph.

Since then the handelling has been alot better.

I hope that helps a bit :)

No because when I set it at 80mph when i was driving down the motorway it came up with 80mph exceeded winter tyres no longer in use, i think thats what it says :D

IIRC that function is to help correct for speedometer error when you switch to winter (snow) tires. there is also a function to set off a warning if you exceed a preset speed

Snow and ice last few days has been a nightmare here, my little rascal wouldn't ride off the drive yesterday wheels spinning and sliding but going no where, todays journey to work took 45 mins instead of the usual 15 mins. The amount of numpties on the roads today was unbelievable.

I need an empty car park so i can have a little play and enjoy the back end pulling out.
