Guess I should do a quick intro and post some pics.

I am a confirmed serial car changer, so no idea how long the EOS will be with me. 6 months would be a bit of a long term record. Last few cars that it will be measured against are the MKIV R32, MKV GTI, 350Z, MK2 2.0TT, Astra VXR and MK2 S3

Anyway picked up the individual after a long wait from ordering to delivery - one week Spent the last month or so driving hire cars as I decided what to buy after the S3, so coming from a 1.2 Corsa to the EOS has been a nice shock

No real thoughts yet, apart from. Will post some observations when I have a few miles under my belt.

Glad to see you have got your Eos, nice car, love the 2 tone seats.
I picked my Eos up last Saturday after a slightly longer wait than you lol. I am decided on mine and I absolutely love it, infact its "gert lush" the mere thought of parting with it fills me with horror, I can honestly say there is no other car that I would prefer.Lets just hope the honeymoon period lasts eh?
I hope you have many many months if not years of enjoying yours.

Ever noticed that the hand that most people have best control over is holding the wheel, rather than gearstick. I guess that in the US when the realised the screw up they invented auto so their right hand could join in the action.

Mix of boredom and if I bought the car at the right time the ease to move to something else for little cost. However I have made a few interesting financial cock ups when changing cars Took a long time over this choice as I do look for a car I will enjoy, Ive not had before and will be easy to resell.
EOS ticked all the boxes and the Individual overcomes one of my main gripes with the std car - the steering wheel fitted.

Talking of steering wheels, I notice you have the multi-function wheel. Is the stiching black or cream?

Looks nice . Just like mine. Gets lots of attention when the roof is down. Would be interested to know how you compare it to the R32. For me the steering wheel is better . That is saying something as the MK IV R32 was very good. Also noticed that it is not so fast off the line but much of this is down to the lack of 4WD. It still has the same fun factor that I had with the R32 so I am pleased with that.
Would be good to have a V6 EOS with 4WD . That would be tempting especially as the new R36 ( Passat ) is supposed to push out 300HP.

Yours is like a 1.6/2.0 TDI Golfs and the individuals is like the GTI. My dealer had two EOS in the showroom last week and you would feel the difference.
I think you will also find it is a little smaller diameter wise, but I'm not 100% on that.

The Individual has a lot fatter wheel than the std EOS. Certainly the std 2.OTDi Sport has a different wheel. Hope these photos help

Oh yeah! I can def see the difference from those pics. Thats really nice n beefy, and that stitching is a nice touch.
btw, just looked at original pics, its blindingly obviously different to me now....... DUH !!

I think it's just swell that VW thinks enough of the US to give us the standard choice of gray, black, or beige on our interiors. After all, we have no taste and don't much matter in their sales. Maybe when they move to the new office across the river, I'll go have a talk with them.

I understand your pain however I can also see why car makers give limited choice on your side of the pond. First, in a lot of cases, you expect to be able to go to the dealers and in a short time drive off in the car of your choice. The more options, the more cars the dealers would need to have on the forecourt. And secondly the price. You pay alot less for your cars. This gives the dealers/makers a lot less profit to play with so again, giving less choice helps their bugets.

Americans, in general, are an impatient lot. We also have an inbred sense of entitlement. Not a good combination. I'm willing to wait, impatiently, for what I want. And I'm also willing to pay a bit more for something special. Volvo is trying that approach with its new C30. We'll see how it goes.

I guess I am more like the European buyer. I special ordered my Eos and waited for it to come. I tend to own cars for 9-10 years after buying them new, and would rather make sure I get the options I want rather than settling for something that does not meet my needs. One thing you never see in Europe is a car lot with several HUNDRED new vehicles. Most US dealerships have multiple cars, and salespeople slavering over you like hungry dogs. I kind of freaked out my dealer when I came in with the inventory codes for the vehicle I wanted. I asked them to do a search to see if any were in the US, and within range, and after they said no I asked them to order one. The stupid salesman then tried to push me towards one they had, then did not call me back with an answer when he said he would. The ONLY reason I went back to that dealer was because it was the closest dealer, and then I dealt with the sales manager. When I plan to drive a car a long time, I get what I want. I did have to deal with the limitations on US cars but I am pleased with mine.
