The integrated iPod connection has been fantastic since I got the car 6 months ago, but suddenly last night I started up and - silence! Tried all sorts but to no avail. It's definatly not the iPod as tried a different iPod and still no go. iPod screen blank where it used to light up and show a little VW sign. Anybody else had this experience ? Have booked car in for them to have a look at but would be interested to know if its happened to anybody else ?

Occasionally when i select the ipod, the six playlists, three left, three right, read 'ERROR', rather than CD1, CD2 etc etc, but the lists always play when you select them, and eventually they all appear correctly. As if it's taking longer than the system software allows to read the lists. Mine did die altogether once, but I took it out and re connected, and it's been fine ever since.

Sorry but cant say I've noticed any problem with mine. One interesting point though you said that you see a VW logo on the iPod screen. Assuming yours in a late 2007 model it seems that there is a difference in the ipod prep software. Mine is Oct 2006 and my software is for Audi not VW. Might explain some differences.

Thanks for the feed back. Car booked in for June 3rd to sort it out. They didn't seem too suprised when I told them what the problem was though. Not your usual 'how strange never heard of that one before' !!
I feel lost without my music at the moment, still it's great having been able to drive 'topless' almost every day for the last month.

looks like a hardware fault rather than a software one then. Thanks for the feedback, best of luck with your new unit.
