Hey guys, to those who have the factory armrest iPod adaptor. I have no playlists on my iPod so only cd 6 is available which is fine. Now if shuffle for songs is selected on the iPod then each time I FF it will randomly play the next song which is what I want. However the shuffle setting on the iPod seems to get put back to off when igntion turned off and back on again.

So if you press mix on the cd player this has the same effect but this also switches back off when you turn off the ignition.

Ok so this sounds a bit much but I've spend a lot of dough on options (dsg, auto lights, autowipe etc) so I have to think about as little as possible when i get in the car. Haveing to reach over and press MIX everytime I get in is really stessing me out (no its not really, but you get what I mean). Anyone else overcome this?

I'll check mine, but I'm pretty sure the MIX setting stays when I switch the ignition off and on.

Mine also seems to reset whenever I restart the car. What I do is set the iPod to shuffle, begin playing the songs on the ipod (still not docked int he car), then turn on the "lock" button on top of the iPod before you put it in the dock. It will then stay on shuffle. HTH!

i have to say, i love the eos. but this ipod dock, esp for the $$, is the biggest let down in the whole car. it doesnt show id3 tags on the HU, you can't skip between artists, it has quirky usability issues like discussed in this thread. all i have to say is "vw, what up?!"

Griff, that doesnt seem to work for me. I have noticed also that the repeat option in the iPod settings menue is always reverted back to "all" when ignition turned off/on.

If you browse to songs then play, then plug in, the cd player will then play the songs alphabetically instead of the default artists and it will remember this with ingition off/on.

No doubt it will do this for album too, but shuffler seems to be a real problem!!! If the mix button just stayed on then BINGO! I wonder is this can be programmed by vw tech guys?

Yes I do agree with you monkey, iPods have been around long enough for big car manufactures to address a proper system to accept them and utilise their functions and display tags etc. CD's are so last century and i will NEVER actually insert one in my player!

Surprised they cant design a radio with a front mounted slot like the old cassette players where you just slide an ipod in instead! maybe thats just too simple!

I checked mine and the MIX definitely stays selected no matter what I have done to the iPod. The iPod settings appear to make no difference.

The only point I can make is that I have the SAT NAV head unit, if that is any significance.
