Ipod With Video Working on Nav Screen!

Finally got this up and working cost about £85 and look no wires!
IPod is easily accessed just wish the holder was in black!
the red switch powers the adaptor, the ipod and my speed camera detector so is active without the ignition on but allows me to kill everything when i want, the black switch enables video on the move.
double lighter socket in the fuse box is great for hiding the ipod power lead but also good for any after market nav unit or as in my case a camera detector as avoids messy cables going to ashtray. plus its got permanent power.

I asked someone who is specialist on ICE system and he asked me 770 euro    (400euro to unlock the device and 370 euro for tha cable link).

So please give some more information to help!

P.S. You have PM!

you have mail!
i have received pm's asking how to do this so here goes

you need a av interface like this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AV-Multimedia...QQihZ002QQcategoryZ139823QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
also an ipod one like this
http://www.xtrememac.com/audio/ipod_cables/roadshow/
and a cigarette extension lead
the av unit plugs into the head unit and the ipod lead into that
i then used an inline fuse to connect to a spare position on the fusebox, see pic, cut the end off the extenion lead to give a 12 v point in the fuse box to plug in the ipod lead(and my speed camera detector) without having to use the console one and have wires showing
also connect the av unit to this fuse and earths to a convenient place( see pic mine is in the fusebox area)
if youdont want video on the move your done, but if so you need to also install a switch to allow this
hope this helps

Hi,

I have a VW EOS 2.0 TDI DSG with MFD DVD Navigation System and 6x CD changer mounted in the armrest.
Exactly the same MFD DVD Navigation System you have!

I want to install an iPod Adapter (which I already payed) to connect my iPod Video 60Gb, but VW-Portugal now says VW EOS iPod Adapter is not compatible with the version of the iPod I have.
According to VW-Portugal the iPod EOS Adapter only works with iPod Photo old series.......

Could you help me in this issue, please?

thanks in advance

depends alot on how tidy you want it to look
to get working is quite simple, the hard work is in the installation
if your happy to stick everything in the glovebox its easy

Ok, thanks pacemaker1000, I'll review - your install looks neat & tidy - plus it seems you havent in fact lost an awful loft of storage space in your glovebox either.
Hi,

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but as the eBay items you bought are long gone, could you confirm the part numbers that you purchased?

Thanks
