I got the same thing (with leather, climatronic, all the bells and whistles) for 27,500 just a year ago.

They dont make that trim level any more so its pretty hard to find.

is it a reputable dealer?

may be a reasonable deal

Should still be under VW warranty, assuming that you get the same deal in the US as we do in Europe. However, "Caveat Emptor". If you're going to spend that much dosh I would go & have a look first, whatever the distance.

2007 6-speed manual with sport package and 18" wheels, $24,995, 20,000 miles.

I'd have to buy sight unseen, as it's far from home!

My guide to used car prices in the USA is usually Hemmings Motor News:

http://www.hemmings.com/

Unfortunately, they have not advertised an Eos in recent weeks and it is not listed in their price guide. You could try placing an ad in their "cars wanted" section.

I did a little research and have some numbers for you:

2007 Eos 2.0T $29,990
Sport Pkg $ 3,690
18" Upgrade $ 400
Shipping $ 630
_______
$34,710

This is US 2007 prices. There were other options such as DynAudio stereo upgrade at $1,000, Nav at $1800, Park Distance Control (PDC)at $350 and DSG auto trans at $1075.

I tried to match as best I could what you discribed as on the Eos. Edmunds listed the car at $27,161 retail, $23,805 Trade-in. Kelley Blue Book listed At $27,690 retail, and $22,825 Trade-in. Obviously current economic conditions will probably give you some bargaining leverage. Like previously mentioned go see the car and drive it, and check it out good . Some say the sport seats are hard and the side bolsters are too tight. I have these seats and like them.

Hmmm

I must say that sounds like a very reasonable price given that this car may become a rarity as the economic meltdown alters people's purchasing habits. I paid almost $50,000 for an Eos in 2007 (first of a few) and have absolutely no regrets. This is by far the most amazing hardtop in the world. Cheers.

Think it depends on the built-in padding you have...
Maybe they need to enlarge the seats a bit for the US market?!

Well....I'm answering my own post. After a protracted negotiation and an 800 mile drive, the Eos is MINE! I ended up getting it for $22,000 plus tax. I. Love. This. Car. So, if anybody sees a 2007 Island Gray Eos on the NYS Thruway between Kingston and Albany every day, flas your lights!

Sounds like a great deal to me. I used to live in Poughkeepsie. Enjoy your EDAs! (Eos Driving Adventures)

Decent, but you can do better.

I'm in California. Mine's an 08 and had 531 miles on when I bought it in December. It had been registered to VW of America. It too is a manual, w/o sport package, w/ rear windscreen and iPod adapter (which is rubbish btw. maybe the new one for 09 works well, but the earlier iteration is useless). All that at the same price. In addition, I was able to work down the interest rate and get a service package. You have some room to negotiate.
