Yay I've just ordered my number plate for my eos it will be SN08 EOS have to wait 10 working days for the paper work though and coming up to christmas isnt looking good. I also added the ipod connection too its already started being built yippeee roll on march!

Im having a bad week so this has cheered me up slightly

Cool number. Just remember you have to wait for the most luxurious items. The anticipation is all part of the Eos ownership (in the UK at least).

I went on the dvla website it only cost me £399 plus the £80 fee for the plates being made. I would have had my name but it was over £2000 so i didnt bother the paperwork came yesterday which was quite quick as i only phoned on monday

Shit that's a lot of money!
It only cost me AU$179 for our personalized plates (EOS 000).
Custom plates (eg whatever you want, within reason) only cost $250 per year.

$250 per year? "Shit, that's a lot of money!" Still, in the UK we are constrained by rules that define the form of the plate.

Yes $250 per year is a lot, which is why I went for the cheapo $179 single payment option.
Still, $250 is equivalent to 20 years compared to £2000!

There are restrictions on what you can have with the $179 option.
Has to be 6 characters in format "x n"; x must be 1 to 5 letters, n must be 5 to 1 digits.
Limited range of colours.

In Arizona, USA we pay $25 a year for the vanity plate. If one also wants a specialty plate (support a cause, local university, sports team) that is also $25 a year. So $50 a year for the whole enchilada, as they say.

We have to pay the one off fee for it like £399 ect so its not too bad. atleast your fuel is cheaper than ours!!

We pay a one time fee for the plate ($200 ish) and then it's the same as any other plate for the annual registration.

My plates are the same as my screen name, I couldn't refuse, the car begs for personalized plates!

Hi,
Just got my EOS and delighted. I want to replace the registration with my own personalised plates. Went to Halfords and they said they only to screw fittings. Went to a local garage who did not know how to get the current ones off. They both said they had never seen a fitting like that before !!!!! Does anyone know how this is done ???? Would be grateful for any advice.

I have just bought a EOS demonstrator... 2.0 TFSI with S55EOS as the number. They "threw it in" as part of the deal. How cool is that ?

About the plates - they may just be stuck on with double sided sticky fixings. These are also available at Halfords (and other good motoring supply stores) LOL !

What are some of the personalized plate "names" have people been using. Hate to be a copy cat, but I'm having trouble coming up with something that not already taken here in the grand state of Virginia, USA.
