Hi All,

I just bought my Eos yesterday. It is an 08 Eos, silver. I think its pretty basic for the most part, but only had 3000 miles. I am super excited to have it! This is also my first Volkswagen, but I had been looking at getting a Jetta, but stumbled across the Eos and couldnt pass up a convertible!

Everyone thinks I am crazy for owning a convertible in Alaska, but its a hardtop, and FWD, so It should do just fine. Plus we have a truck for the heavy driving!!

I cant wait untill it gets a little warmer to drive around with my top down!

It's in the 20's in the morning and up to around the 40s in the afternoon. Although I just heard we might get some snow this week, but there is not a cloud in the sky!

To me the current weather is not super cold, but to everyone else, its freezing!

Wow, 20°C isn't bad and 40°C is baking. Definately roof down weather.

Actually, 40°F is about 5°C. I've had my roof down at this temperature with the heated seats, woolley hat and fleece.

Nice.

Yes, but you get those long summer days with what, only an hour or less of darkness right? That's a lot of top down driving that you can do with sunshine while the rest of us are in darkness. I'm envious of that part.

It was 65F this am at 4:30am on my way to the gym.....under an almost full moon, I drove in with the top down. Drew a few glances from local police (the only other cars on the road at that hour!) but top down driving for me doesn't always occur in the sunshine!.

Welcome!

Hi AlaskanEos,
congrats to your new EOS. Hope you'll have a lot of fun with it. What did you mean with your EOS equipped with FWD?
Is it four or all weehl drive like the 4Motion from VW?

50° F here in Wisconsin today, could not resist, put the top down went for a drive. Got a few looks from people probably thinking it was too cold, but it was just fine. Then washed the baby detailed the inside, and put her back into the garage.

It was 46 F this morning when I went to the gym but the top was still down from my drive home the evening prior so I said "what the heck" and left it down for my drive to the gym (15 minutes). With the heat on and the heated seats on it wasn't too bad. It was 79 F this afternoon when I left work and that was a great ride home with the top down. Like you, I washed the pollen off, vacuumed, and put some vinyl protectant on and right now she's sparkling in the garage.

Hi Darren,
Would you mind nipping over to Devon & giving my Eos the treatment? The seagulls have been rather active over the last couple of days & the car desperatley needs a clean & I'm too tied up with painting 130 railings round my patio!

Sounds like I could give up my full time job as a physician and have much more fun traveling the world as an official Eos cleaner. If you pay my fare over there I'll clean the Eos for you. I've never driven the TDI and my curiosity is up. I hate seagulls! I'd hate them even more if the top was down :p

I think we could reasonably club together and fly you over here Darren, then you could spend your time just driving from one EOS to the next all over the country! Good clean and Krytox then on to the next one. Come to think of it that's not a bad idea for a job is it, might even consider that for myself!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. So who will be first? I think I'll need a manager to help plan my route. You'll know where I've been b/c it will always rain right after I clean the car!

This was also my knowledge, but in Gemany we sometimes use FWD as an abbreviation for Four Weehl Drive. That's I'm wondering.

That's a bit confusing!

Here we stick to 4WD or AWD for 4- (or All-) Wheel Drive.
