I am actually in DC are (U.S.), I bought a used 2008 certified pre-owned, low mileages Lux, black int. and black ext. I read some bulletins about leaking in the 2008s so I am grateful for my warranty. Has anyone else dealt with this?

In this thread, you're bound to find someone (actually several) who complain about a leaky roof. Bare in mind there may be 100,000 Eos drivers around the world (most of whom are happy as a clam at high tide).

I've had my '08 Lux for 18 months now without ANY leaks. I do keep it in the garage when not in use and I also NEVER put it through a car wash (who's to tell whether they are high pressure or not)?

My car gets only hand washes.

Re your location, you can put it into personal information and it will appear in future posts letting anyone easily see you are from DC (Detroit City Not).

I know nothing re bulletins, I have had a leak and can hand on my heart say that I am very grateful for my warranty! It did cover everything that had been wrong with my car since the second I got it despite my vehicle being second hand. I think that it is quite rare to find an Eos with a leak and that I did end up with a duff car so don't start worrying about stuff like that until it happens - it's more than likely that it won't!!

Enjoy her! :D

waiting on our eos

Hi We are waiting on our car which is going into a VW dealer re a roof problem the dealer we bought from assured us only a minor problem faulty switch or something. As have only paid a deposit hope its none of the leaky roof problems that some of you guys have had. Can,t wait until the telephone rings to say car ready.

Thanks for all of your input I appreciate it. I am just so happy about the car. I feel like I just adopted a child!! I look at the pictures constantly. I officially pick it up next weekend (May 2) I am so overjoyed I cant wait!!! I am grateful for the extended warranty offered on certified pre-owned.

Has anyone gotten the blutetooth add on for the nav system? I am just curious how well it works.

I think you'll like your Black on Black Lux. I have an 07 2.0T that is configured with the options found on the Lux. I too purchased used and reside in the DC area (Fairfax, VA). I've not had any problems with leaks with mine and it has served me well. I did Krytox the roof seals right after purchasing mine as I didn't know if/when that was last done. Since then then I reapply this twice a year. Car washes shouldn't normally be a problem. When I take mine to Lindsay VW (near Dulles airport) they run it through their wash without a problem.

Enjoy your new Eos. The weather is turning nice now so it's a great time of year to have one. I find that weekend drives to the Shenandoah Mountains with the top down are quite nice - especially wine tasting along the way! I highly recommend it.
