Hey - Just picked up my new 2008 VS Eos on Monday. Quite a treat since I factory-ordered July 21st and was told it wasn't coming until November! Believe me - I'm enjoying driving with the top down and plan to do it as long as possible.

Have the Eismeer Blue with Cornsilk interior and sports package. Had it ONE day before the service engine light went on and it spent a day at the Service centre. There was a malfunctioning valve which was replaced. ONE DAY IN.
Anyhow, not letting that bother me, but nothing else better happen anytime soon:rolleyes:

Am loving the driving, and definitely meeting lots of new people who are interested in the colour/car - which is a lot of fun. Do have to get used to take off, though. Have squealed the wheels several times as I get used to the slow start (much slower than my Acura Integra), but all else is great.

One thing I am a bit nervous about (maybe you experts can set me straight;) ), but I hear with the DSG transmission you get roll back on hills. That freaks me out as I have never driven manual before and wouldn't know how to handle so now I'm picturing myself rolling back into a car with the top down which would be a BIG issue! Any pointers?

Anyhow, will post some photos soon. TTYL:cool:

You don't get much rollback.... It's just because it has clutches in the gearbox and not a torque converter like a normal auto... When you release the break, it engages the clutch, so you have a few inches of rollback before it rolls forward..... This is fine.. It just gets some getting used to hen you are trying to park on a hill for example, so you have to press the break as you roll, but not so much that it disengages the clutch!!!

Good luck, it's a brill car... I have the same one, just different colour.. (2.0T-FSI Sport with DSG)...

Welcome KatsEOS .... and greetings from Collingwood, just 1 1/2 hours north. I have virtually the same car Eismeer Blue, with Sport Package. Have had it for almost a year now, and still love it .. virtually no problems! If you are interested in a VWEOSClub sticker for your license, look through the Canada thread to find the picture, send me a private message with your address and I'll send you one. Cheers!

Congratulations on your purchase. Although you seemed to have an initial problem this has been sorted and I'm sure the joy of driving the Eos will soon have you convinced you made a great (right) decision.

happy EDAs
