Just got an Eos (love it!), but I can't believe there is no locking feature for the trunk for when the top is down. Traded in a Solara and that car had a lock mechanism. Couldn't find any indication of this in the maual. Just wondering if I'm missing something! Thanks

Congrats on your purchase. Unless your trunk locking mechanism is defective, the trunk will lock when all the doors are locked or if you just unlock the driver's door. At least that's how it is on mine. Don't forget... We need pix....

Mine works the same way - I tested it just to be sure. When the top is down and the door are locked, the trunk release button will not function.

If you put the top down and lock the doors with the key fob, you can only unlock the trunk with the key fob. Once the doors are locked, the trunk release on the door is disabled as well as the trunk release with the VW emblem. If you open the door, the alarm goes off and the trunk is still locked. You need to lock the rear seat passthrough with the key or someone could crawl into the back seat, reach through the opening, and release the trunk with the emergency trunk release. Non US cars get an ultrasonic package in their Eos so you can't even reach inside the car without setting the alarm off.

just over a week Sep 1st to us getting our NEW eos and I was wondering when the top is down is the alarm still activated on sensors ? so if anyone tries to get inside the car does the alarm go off ?

Top down, ultrasonic alarm is activated inside the car when the car is locked with the fob.
Theres a switch on the drivers door to disable the alarm, if you have left your dog/granny in the car.
