Hi All,

The wife and I are looking to purchase an Eos. At present we are looking to get the car around March next year so not in to much of a hurry at present. The model we would like is the 2.0TDi Individual but I have a slight reservation as the press report that the engine is very loud. How have owners of the TDi found it in real life?

We have had a test drive of a petrol model but none of the dealers around us have a TDi to test. I understand that most will go for the petrol but this car is really for the wife and as she covers some 20k per year so the diesel is really the option we are after.

What sort of mileage are you guys getting? I may be interested in a chip upgrade, does anyone have any experiences and if so how did it affect your MPG?

Hi Don,

Welcome to the site. I can't speak for the TDi engine but we have the 2.0T and I set the cruise control at 74mph the other day and averaged 37mpg.

What sort of mileage are you guys getting?

Certainly, how one drives their Eos affects their gas mileage, but most forum members (this and other forums) are getting between 21 and 37mph. No two drivers are alike, obviously, and stop and go vs. highway will make a difference, as well as using the AC, top down, etc.

Ultimately, not many complaints overall with the gas mileage from the Eos. In fact, I would say that most owners are quite pleased.
