Is it just me or does the standard Eos look as if it has the same amount of gap between tyre and wheel arch as a Taureg? They just look so pumped up like there gonna go off road.

Even those model with 18" wheel dont seem to look any different. I realize they need to make the ride comfortable but BMW seem able to give there cars a more sporty look in standard guise.

Has anyone here succesfully dropped there Eos down a bit, any pictures. Ive ordered mine with westwoods and I just want it to look standard, minus the huge gap so it looks a little lower, which would give it a more stretched look over all as it is a bit stumpy I think out of the box.

Is this something VW can offer, i.e. a sport suspention pack, so as not to void warrenty??

Thanks for any input.

i agree!
the sport drops it a bit but if you have 18" chicargos you dont get the drop
been looking into ebach springs for around £150 that lower about 1" and looks much more sporty
but dont want to ruin ride :) ebach says it dosnt plus improves acceleration as reduces spin
still waiting for someone else to try though :D

I have the sport package and the 18s, the pack looks good with not much wheel gap.. The front I can fit 3 1/2 fingers between the wheel and the gap.. Not as nice as BMW but not monster truck gap..

£150 for the springs doesn't sound to bad. We will however stick with stock as we live in the Country and have some bad roads we have to travel everytime we go out.

Go on, give it a go, you can be the first here to do so and report back with pictures and your findings.

There have been several posts regarding the lowering of the Eos on some of the other car forums I read. When it comes to warranty VW seems to be pretty forgiving of modifications other than on the roof module. I have seen several lowered Eoses and the people that have lowered them seem very happy with the ride quality and the wheel spin. I personally like the ride of my lux package Eos and I am not unhappy with the height of the vehicle since I am more worried about hitting parking stops and to me the Eos looks great at the height from the factory. The only modification I have done on my Eos is getting the blue tinted driver and passenger mirrors from oempl.us. I love the lack of glare at night and I love the driver mirrors extra blind spot protection with the angled mirror at the end.

Ari's Project Heartland Eos articles are pretty good Project Heartland Part 3 . I believe Part 3 addresses his new wheels and springs. There are some nice pictures there.

Basically anything you do modification wise relates just to that area of the car. I would then look at what the vendor of the modded parts does for warranty in the event of problems arising from that part.
It becomes a bit more difficult getting warranty work if the problem arises from aftermarket parts, but I believe you can expect VW to honor their warranty on anything other than what you modded.

Can these eibach springs be done through VW so as not to raise any warentee issues?
As soon as you change out the springs on your car you will void the entire warranty with respect to the suspension. That means if you have strut issues, etc (even though you havent swapped those) then the parts and labor will not be covered by warranty. I've seen this happen far too many times before.. Just my $0.02

I have recently installed H&R springs which lower the car 35mm and also put on some R32 alloys. Our Eos now looks great and we have no ground clearance or other issues.

I have the Eibach springs fitted, they lower 24mm front and 20mm rear. The car looks much better and the ride is barely affected. Speed bumps feel a bit harsher but thats about it.
