Apologies for this being a bit low tech, but one of the spring clips on the luggage cover keeps falling off. It just pushes back on but its a real pain. Is there meant to be something that holds this in or is it just luck is doesn't normally come out ?

This has happened a few times to me. I got the hump and took the luggage cover out to have a good look. There is a very small lug which holds the spring in, so to ensure it caught properly I pushed the spring clip in with a small electrical screwdriver to ensure it was properly seated. Has not popped out since so am hoping this has cured it.

Noticed the same problem this morning for my partner's car - it was the LHS clip when you look from the back of the car.

Are there any special techniques required to remove the cover from the hinge plates held down by the screws at the back of the luggage recess? A quick look this afternoon didn't give me a clear idea of how the cover could be removed - the owner was looking over my shoulder to make sure I didn't do any damage so I couldn't be too adventurous.

I can't speak to that from personal experience, but on page 5 of the linked PDF is a photo and a caption that might help...

Steve0's link is spot on, just fitted my smart top last week as it happens. My clip was also the left one viewed from the back of the car.

As mentioned above, the luggage comes out by popping out the hinge cover on the left side and the whole thing slides out (I think this is in the owners manual).

Its odd that it seems to be the left side clip that comes out. I reckon there should be some form of cover to hold it in. I may attack it with a hot-glue gun to see if that fixes it.
