Torigirl, I have rubber mats, will never use the carpet mats again. Posted photo's a couple months ago but deleted them from my camera. Do a search for "car mats" using the search tool from this site or look at the post I have made and you will find the photo's.
Get them, you will not be sorry. I paid $72 from the VW dealer for set of 4.

I have the MONSTER MATS in my EOS
A set of the rubber MOSTER MATS came WITH my EOS as well as the standard carpeted mats. Upon delivery I installed the rubber MONSTER MATS and never even took the carpeted mats mats out oteir protective plastic sleeve.
After 6 months and 15,000 miles of use.....they still look brand new. When I clean my car, I just shke off the loose dirt, blow them off with compressed air, wipe them off with a damp rag, and put them back in the car.
The ONLY drawback to the mats, and most others on the market, is that the DRIVER"S side mat does not have a heel area "wear pad" which allows that portion of the mat to wear out LONG before the other mats in the car are even scuffed up.
So to prevent that from happening to my MOSTER MAT, I made my own "heel area wear pad" by turning the mat upside down and evenly filling all the grooves and indentations on the underside of the mat with high quality silicone rubber adhesive caulk....let it dry for 24 hours, and put it back in the car, and voila, the mat still looks new.
