Hi there I have recently bought a new VW EOS and I am putting in the matts, but there are no studs to attach it with.

The dealer gave me some plastic screws to attach the matts through the carpet.

Has anyone had any experience of doing this, as I do not want to mess up my new motor!?

Any advise or essential instruments needed?

Just purchased mine in Maryland this past weekend. The carpeted mats were held in place with two permanently mounted studs near the seats. I removed the carpet mats and installed the all weather / rubber mats in their place. Seems that VW didn't install the studs onto the the interior carpeting. Would advise against screwing anything into the carpeting.

VW screw them in themselves normally must of forgot yours, take it to the show room and ask them to do it for you
