Washed the car last night, and noticed what looks like a mechanical scratch 5-6 cm long, on the roof panel 1 cm above the passenger side rear window. The scratch looks like a series of joined up w's. I opened and closed the roof, stopping it a various points but saw no point where components got close to touching.
I'm convinced it's not vandalism, as the w's are too neat and regular. Has anyone else come across anything similar?

Are you sure they are scratches. Sometimes the roof seal lubricant leaves some very fine lines on the roof surface. The stuff is a bit sticky. many of us have had this marking. Gentle washing/rubbing will remove them.

I had this the other day, and I rubbed it gently to discover it was some of the plastic covering that is on the car when it is delivered. It has now all gone. I did think the same as you, that the roof was scratching it. Hope your solution is as simple as mine.

We moved to Woodley last Aug. Still not sure about the rest of the areas yet! I see a black 56 plate EOS some mornings dropping the wife off in Wokingham, and there is a guy at Arborfield with a silver one, apart from that don't see many others. Is Earley where ASDA is? I play volleyball at the sports center next door on Thursday evenings, but thats about the only time I go that way.

I'll have to look out for a blue one. If you get flashed (headlights) don't forget to wave back.
