I'm starting to get jealous from all the get togethers our English compatriots have.

Just wondering if any Melbourne or environs Eos drivers are interested in playing "follow the leader" along the Great Ocean Road for a "photo opportunity" and lunch at Apollo Bay or somewhere similar over Summer.

I think I will be able to convince S.W.M.B.O to take a week off work to come down for this depending on the date - February/March would be ideal. It would be great if we could find someone who can arrange access to the grounds of Cape Otway lighthouse for a photograph - even better would be access to the lighthouse to take the photograph looking down over the cars  .

Put us on the list as possibles - might even get to try some shark as well :p.

Silvershadow - great idea. The attached photos will give some idea of how close the Eos' can get to the light house, and what sort of photo can be taken.

Come on everyone else, if Silvershadow can drive down from Taree, I'm sure we should be able to get a few takers closer to home - this is classified as one of the worlds great drives - to be taken in one of the worlds great cars:p

Hi Geoff,

Did you get my reply to your PM with my ideas for the cruise?

If not, let me know and I will resend.

40+ deg C [104 deg F] forecast for Melbourne for the next few days - can you get a photograph of the Eos display showing the outside temperature reading and post for our northern hemisphere friends suffering from the cold?

Regards David

Didn't have a camera with me, but at 6pm today the temperature guage in my EOS showed 47.5C while driving through the Adelaide city centre.
I will carry a camera with me tomorrow!

PS, it is now 9:30pm and the temp is 38.5C.

Just heard the Adelaide forecast for today and the news that the National Parks are being closed due to the fire danger - hope you can get that photo of the temperature display.

Temperatures of 50+ deg C are being forecast for inland towns in South Australia.

Silvershadow if he is unable even to log in to read please pass him our best wishes and tell him to get out on that GOR trip asap so that we can see the resulting photo's!

Thanks Gary and Pat,

The problems relate to his vision and I am concerned his recovery seems to be progressing more slowly than I would have anticipated.

Unfortunately, I do not have Geoff's contact details other than through the forum PM facilities.

I am Back

I was being treated for a virus in my right eye, still don't know if that what it was. The practical problem was that the treatment was a 4 times a day cream, which blurred the vision in the eye. As a result, the left eye overcompensated.

While I could use the computer for limited periods (before it all got too much), I needed to save it for work use, I did sneak the occasional look at the forum, but paid for it later.

Fortunately my older son has just started working for me and is a learner driver, so he has been getting me to work and back, (no - its OK, not in the Eos, we have an old Forester, that he learns in and I take when I go bushwalking.)

Fortunately, the cream finished last Friday and I am back in the land of the seeing.

I have an accumulation of things to be done, but once I figure that out, I will do a dry run to work out stops and photo opportunities, pick a date and continue this topic.

Thank you to David (Silvershadow) for your feedback on this EDA and also your wishes and concerns. Regulars to this forum will know the amounts of effort David puts into replying to the requests for help posted, and his generosity with his accumulated knowledge.

Hey mate,

Great to have you back - you cannot keep a good man down
.

Situations like this make you realise how important your sight is to your quality of life and that you have to do everything possible to protect and preserve your sight.
