Welcome to the club. As for your leaking seals searchin round this forum you will find some references to Krytox, seals, leaky roofs etc. Most people have found the solution is to lubricate the seals of the roof and doors about 2x a year to keep them supple. It is important that you don't use anything other than Krytox as that may damage the seals.

Other people have reported problems of badly fitting panels where the leaks have not been fixed by such simple measures. In that case it becomes a warranty repair. But from here these types of fault appear to be very rare and unlikely if they did not appear early on in your ownership.

Water in the door sills is common so that you get a puddle of water when you open a door. However I and others have just accepted it as part and parcel of owning such a great car. Just learn to keep your feet out of the way.

Regards

Water collects on the ledge at the bottom of the door.... (campletely harmless, unless you are in flip-flops!)... When you open the door, the door seal brushes all the water off the ledge onto your feet! ;)

Krytox lubrication should address most leak issues... Where is it leaking from?

Hi Mike!
If your car is in for repair, be sure to ask them what they have done and if they have lubricated the seals with Krytox. If they are going to fix it for you, and do the proper thing; then you should have no problem on this go around.
Glad to have you on the forum and hope your problems are small and your pleasures are great!

Is this a way of putting people off asking for a lift?
Works for me!

Hi Mike welcome to the forum sounds like you found this forum the way i did because your having troubles with your Eos.

Well I too had a leaky roof, open the boot and looked at the spare wheel and theres a 1inch pool of water. (this becomes a long story) but the outcome is that the dealership couldnt fix it the eggheads from VW couldnt fix it so I asked for my money back and started to look at alternative cars.

truth be known we couldnt see anything which compared so instead we asked for a new car same spec to which they have agreed and I am now awaiting my new Eos.

But while were waiting I asked for my eos back saying I would drain the boot once a week which I am doing. but and this is a big but I have now got the most squeaky roof ever. (dont know whether this has been caused by all the work and seal changing thats been done) but if Im honest though I havent tried Krytox to fix the squeak problem.

hope you get a good outcome quickly.

Sorry to hear your story.. This is too common a reflection of the care and competence of UK dealers (for most makes, not just VW).... This is exactly why I don't like dealers touching my car, just can't trust that they care...

I have a rattle in the back and I am going to put up with it rather than a UK dealer look at it and then that rattle goes, but 10 more appear!!

Good luck with a new one, Jason!
