2008 eos lux with 850 miles.. I noticed that the moonroof used to open 100% but now opens only to about 65%. The top goes down with no problem. Any quick fix so I can avoid going to the dealer,, which is a hassle,.
I forgot to say that I stopped by the dealer and he wantd me to make an appt to have it fixed or atleast looked at. Prefer to avoid dealer if it can be an easy fix, anyone else have this happen?
The moon roof does only open to 65% of the opening, thats as normal. If you want 100% you can use the trick of quickly pressing the button for convertable operation and releasing the button when the moon roof is open. Works fine for me but probably not recommended by VW.
Oddly, it seems that when I lower the top then raise it again, at the end of that operation the sliding roof does remain 100% open! I checked in the boot and the latches do seem to be locked OK.
100% open? I would caution the possiblity of wind buffing under the glass plane and trying to force the glass off the top of the car. How much force is based on how fast you are traveling. IMHO Otherwise, it makes sense that 65% angle allows the wind to be deflected.
