Hi All,
I have the RCD 500 radio upgrade with the 6CD changer but no ipod or usb ports.
1) Does anyone here use CDs with MP3 tracks on?
2) If so is it possible to see the track titles and artists names or is it just 'Track1, Track2' etc on the display.
3) What PC program do folks use to create MP3 tracks and put them onto a CD?
4) Are there any type of recordable CDs that wont play?
Cheers, David

Right now I have 12 MP3 cds in the car. I keep 6 in the center console and 6 in the player. The display shows whatever tags you have set up. Mine shows artist and song. I used to use Musicmatch Jukebox, now I use Yahoo Jukebox since Musicmatch is about to be no longer in existance. Both of those programs go out to the CD database and grab the information for your CD tracks. I have used both CD-R and CD-RW. I made a mixed MP3 CD-RW by setting up a random Playlist and Having the jukebox burn a CD in MP3 format. Just make sure you close the session.

Basically the VW player will play the albums in order by artist if you have your folders set up by Artist/Album. It will show the Folder Number but not the Folder Name, so for example if you Have AC/DC Back in Black it will show the folder you are playing from as Folder 2, being that the folder Back in Black is inside the AC/DC folder. Really the only annoyance is that it does not show the folder name, just the number, but it is alphabetical so you can just hit the cat/folder button until you get to the album you want to listen to.

I really like the MP3 feature, mainly because I can keep so many albums in the car, and if they melt, I can just burn another one and not have an original CD melt. I hate Ipods. I do have a Garmin Nuvi that I plug into the Aux plug when traveling, and put audiobooks and music on it.

Thanks for that, just what I need and the yahoo software is free as well.
I'll have some fun playing with that.
