I got the so called multifunction steering wheel and the "half display" in the dash between the gauges. The stunning this is that I CANNOT change radio stations using the steering wheel buttons, I can only change volume!

when you have started the engine press the menu button thats the one with the lines on its on the right hand side of the steering wheel, it will go onto audio and track if you have a cd in and then just press up and down till you find one you like.

not tried it with radio but im sure it works the same as it does with a cd :)

MFD has to be adjusted with the menu button to access the HU control before u can do the track change etc, else its only volume. MFD usually has 3 menus to scroll in-between, one shows the fuel economy etc, the other the settings menu :D

Steph is correct. If you have the multifunction steering wheel, The volume buttons are on the left side. The up/down arrows on the right will let you change the CD track info or the radio station depending on what you are listening to. But you have to push the button Steph mentioned to get you into the proper menu function.

Lol I'm not dumb I know which button you're talking about and as I said it does not work on my car (2.0 tfsi bought second hand). I double checked today, pressing it does nothing (it does not open the settings menu on the dash screen).

I can explain what happened to your car.

It not came with multifunction steering wheel from factory. It was retrofit, so, you have also the wiper stroke buttons to access the menus and half board computer display.

I'm very curious as mine has the same conditions - standard steering wheel and board computer half display - and I want to retrofit the mf steering wheel. Are you seeing also the radio station or cd track on the board computer half display?

If positive, would you mind to insert here a image of the display. I never saw one in the half display.

Are you changing now the radio stations/cd tracks by steering wheel buttons?

But the button on steering wheel that access the menus still not working, right?

And finally, could you please, see what is the part number of the multifunction steering wheel module that is under the steering wheel? Its very very important as it has been difficult to find the correct one in order to the steering wheel work. You need to take out same plastic under the steering wheel.

Thanks so much.

MMh I don't think it was retrofit as it was bought by a VW manager.. However it's a possibility, one never knows.

I will report what you asked but you have to be a bit patient :)
Thanks man! I will apreciate.

When came from factory with multifunction steering wheel it also came with the full display ("MFA plus". Half one is "MFA") and not with lateral buttons on wiper stroke for accessing the menus as it use the button on steering wheel to do that.

And indeed I got the half display but what's the point in retrofitting that "multifunction" steering wheel if you can't really do anything but change the volume
I thought you solved that problem:(

Please confirm:

- Do you see the radiostation or cd track on the board computer display (MFA - half display on dash in front of you)

- You access the board computer with buttons on lateral of the wiper stroke

I suggest you to contact the VW manager that first got your car and put the problem to him - "only the buttons to change the volume are working". Peraphs it can be solved or partially solved (add changing cd tracks and radio stations) by changing some parameters in the car software by the VW Techs as you cannot access the Confort Menu (Activating coming home/Follow me home, etc), Sound Menu and other - please refer to the Car Manual.

The secret is on the adequated module that is under the steering wheel and changing parameters on the software but the full display maybe also important.

I already contact my VW garage but they don't know nothing about retrofit ...they said is impossible. Well, impossible is nothing.

Try with your man peraphs it can be done.

Please, don't forget to post the part number that is on your multifunction module under the steering wheel.

If there is somebody outhere with multifunction steering wheel from factory I would like to ask the part number of the module that is under the steering wheel (you must take some plastic out to see it) and confirm the MFA (full or half).
