Received some fab news the other day - my Eos has been built:D !!!! Apparently it is "inter-transfer": somewhere in the chain between factory & the docks awaiting its big 'cruise' to Australia. Estimated pick up by me has been brought forward :D from early November to late September, first week of October at the latest. Just in time to really enjoy the long stretch of summer we are going to have.

Can't wait for my first drive!:D ! I have already got personalised plates for it. So, if you are in Melbourne after September, look out for a candy white Eos with corn-silk beige interior, sat nav, bluetooth, DSG, MY010 model with the numberplate of 'UZZI' (the plate is a reference to a nickname, would have preferred UZI, but that was unavailable).

Looking forward to some great times in my Eos.

You will LOVE it - it'll be worth the wait. I've had mine since 1st May this year, and sometimes I'm happy just to stand and stare at it, it's so beautiful! Top up, top down, it's just the best car. :)

Another white one - seems like more and more people are catching on ... .

Seriously though, looks like perfect timing for top down driving. We've had ours down a few times (as long as it doesn't rain - it really doesn't get too cold in Melbourne not to have it down) but I'm looking foward to those mild evenings. Ren, you'll love it, and hopefully Stimpy will too ;) .

Ren,

I hope that number plate doesn't refer to any "heat" you may be packing.

If it does, you can drive in front when we cruise the Great Ocean Road.

Thanks so much everyone!

Hopefully the GOR run will be after Sep 19/20, as I only return from Hong Kong on the 18th & the dealer is hoping to have the car ready for me by Wed 23rd. It would be an amazing drive along the coast to 'christen' the car. Geoffa - I will be happy to cruise anywhere in the line. I am sure there will be a lot of takers to be 'Stimpy' for the run drbass.

The latest update is that the ship will be docking on Wednesday (09/09/09) :D . The dealer believes I may be able to take delivery about 2 weeks after that. Not long to go now. I am really hoping I can drive it home with the top down.

I will definitely be taking my new 'baby' on the Great Ocean Road cruise. Can't wait to see all the other Eos' and meet their owners.

I am curious about the manufacture date printed on the side of the door panel. I just took delivery of a new '09 Lux black/Cornsilk, shipped from San Diego to my local dealer. But the manufacture date on the door says 1/09. How could a car manufactured in Jan be shipped in Aug?

Older date in door.

My EOS was ordered to specification. When it came in the date on the door was 8 months earlier also. I think that was the date the door, itself, was fabricated. Was yours put together in Portugal like mine?
