I have been around on the forum for a few weeks now, but my car arrived today so here is a photo, before it gets dirty, and one of the new 2009 spec standard stereo, for those who are as sad as me and get excited by that kind of thing!!!

The wing mirrors are slightly different. The old ones are a little more rounded and the indicator light strip is at the bottom of the case rather than the middle.

It does have an Aux in, but it wont do anything fancy like show the Ipod info on the display - just plays the sound through the speakers. I think the full ipod prep has been deleted from the spec now.

I see the website has been updated to show the new specification, but the printed brochures in the dealer are still old (I wanted one to match the car) - I will have to find a reason to pop in to get a brochure in a few weeks.

I didn't know I had new wing mirrors - how exciting I wonder if they make the car go faster :)

I is my second black car - so I know I have a lot of polishing to do, but I find it strangely theraputic :-|

BTW: Nice photoshop work to show the mirrors DOBO!

Well Congrats! The new look on the stereo head unit is a little more expensive looking than the 2008 model. :-( So sad. I could have waited just over 1 month and got a 2009. Oh well.

2009 Eos

Aloha Teaboy,

I am also bummed. I really like the new mirrors! Looks even more Audi! Now everyone will know mine is a 2008, and not a 2009. Many people think the body of the car is boring, but I, like a lot of others think that it is timeless elegance, and not some trendy look. You did good!
My Boss has a Black BMW, and has had nothing but problems! I told him to get a VW Eos! He loves my care, but is too stuborn to admit it! He has already had the transmission changed in his 2008 3 BMW! Oh well!

Mahalo,
Lopaka

Nothing has changed with the grill between 2008 and 2009, it is just that I have a standard spec EOS. The crome grill is one of the extras you get on a sport.

I am still playing spot the difference as I drive around, then I have to come home and get the specification list out - very sad :D

Thanks for posting your pix. My 2009 is due for delivery in about 3 weeks and I have been hunting for pix of the new mirrors for ages.

If you think you're sad, how about this for an anorak fact: the glovebox handle on the 'old' Eos was chrome, the 2009+ models have reverted to trim colour.

Told you it was nerdy ;)

If we are plaing "top nerd" then check out the mirror switch and the alarm off button!!!

Tell me you ordered the TDI - the new engine is mega quiet and super smooth - I can see you are in France and I think diesel is the law over there :)

Yes, I know: the mirror demister position has been changed from 12 o'clock to 2 o'clock! I claim top nerd :)

I was originally going to go for the 2.0 TFSI, because I had a Golf Plus a couple of years ago with the old 140hp TDI and I didn't care for it (noisy & too brutal). Then I heard that post May 26, 2008 production would be getting the common-rail TDI which by all accounts is a lot quiter & smoother. The only downside is having to wait 2 months, but the car should be here in 3 weeks now :)

The mirror demister has always been at 2 o'clock if you have retractable mirrors. I was only the standard mirrors that had it at 12 o'clock.

Keep trying you'll get there.:D

Great to hear you will get the new common rail diesel engine be really interested to hear what you think of it in terms of noise, performance, economy, etc. My next car (probably another Eos because its so brilliant) will be a diesel, although I do love the 200bhp 2.0T
Cheers, David
