:( Hi All
My first problem in 12 months ownership from new, my wife complained about a rattle that has started from her door, on checking it appears that the rear window channel has come loose from the inside door panel and when the door is opened the glass can be lifted up about two inches.
I think its just a matter of removing the door panel and replacing the securing bolt that holds the window channel at least I hope thats all it takes, I have it booked in next week for repair at my local VW dealer and will keep you posted.
I think what has caused the problem is when you pull the door handle from the outside the window does not come down quick enough when the door opens and the glass catches on the roof rubber, and over time this has shaken the glass and the channel retaining bolt has come loose.

Hi
Remember it was my passenger door window that came loose, try telling the wife to wait till the glass goes down before she opens the door.
NO CHANCE

Tell me about it. I've got so fed up with trying to show my wife how it should be done, I tend to open the door for her now. It also stops her from dinking the door on the nearby wall.

I to had the problem of the glass not moving fast enough and being caught when the door is closed on passenger side. The way I get round this is only to open the drivers door first, get in, run down the passenger window a little, then unlock the door. Works for all my family

Hi GOgg
Will have to try and open the window as you say or pull the inside door handle before anyone gets in the passengers side.
If the outside handle had been designed to be pulled up instead of out this problem would not occur, but as no one else has had this happen with there Eos it could be that the retaining bolt had not been tightened properly at the factory.

Hi Bill,
I suspect you are correct, looks like poor assembly rather than poor design. Though there could also be a bit of that as well.

Cheers

Hi GOgg
I was correct the VW mechanic removed the door panel and found the top left window chanel retaining bolt was half out, two second job to tighten the bolt but an hour and a half to remove and refit the door panel,
But pleased to have got rid of the rattle.

Hi Bill, thanks for the feedback. I'm presuming it had not been installed correctly in the first place or is this going to be a problem for us all?

Cheers
