So, I bought my EOS on June 6, 2008.

My EOS: 2.0T, Lux & Winter Pack, 17.5" Alloys Custom Wheels (Non-VW upgrade), Dark Gray

I have already ordered modified brake calipers (bright red) to show of the wheels a little more. I am about to start some body modifications soon, at least the rear lip spoiler as a starting point. I also will be modifiying the audio and adding an alarm.

I will try to take some pics for you all so you can see my progress.

I love the car!

What's the "winter pack?" I have the Lux model also and the only option that came with it was the VW mats. I have the Eismeer Blue which I would probably pick again although that might come down to a coin flip between the blue and the dark gray. I don't remember seeing a dark grey when I got mine last November.

I like the idea of the bright red brake calipers, but with the cost of gas, I'll settle for the stock look for now. I would have to say the Eos is the most fun car I've ever owned. I look forward to driving it anywhere I can. I'm retired, so I have to find excuses to run my baby.

Welcome on board, I'm sure you will enjoy the ride.

Welcome fellow midwesterner. I think the red calipers with the gray (Shadow Gray) you have would look great. There are at least 3 different spoilers available and 2 full body kits (one from ABT and one from JE Designs) that are good. Lots of research for you. As for the wheels, 17.5"? Never heard of 1/2 sized wheels and tires. There are some good aftermarket audio units out the some with dvd and Nav. Have you thought of lowering and different suspension kits for that? Whatever you do, keep us informed.

My Mistake

I have been looking at the JE Design and the ABT and the Caractre body kits for the EOS, but I really don't like the rear lid spoiler of any of those kits. I was looking to purchase a spoiler early and then choose a body kit later (minus the rear lip spoiler of course). The thing I dislike about the spoilers is that from the side, you really can't tell the spoiler is even there. I want something to masculate the rear end of the car some. Anyone find one that works????

Oh, the 17.5 inch for my wheels was a typo... sorry. They are 18inch wheels. I blame lack of sleep yesterday. LOL. I am changing out the calipers this weekend to the bright red. I also ordered a storage drawer which goes under the seat, since the glove-box has that neat cooling feature, I wanted to free it of papers and such.

I will take some pics this weekend, so i have my progress documented.

Travis,
You will want to use a lot of care if you are looking at the large spoilers. The trunk is plastic and the antennas are built into the trunk. You also need to be concerned with the spoiler's weight for when you put the top up and down. I don't know if you saw the lip spoiler made by a sponsor who used to be on this forum, RaceGX I think it was. As for the drawer I think they can be used if you don't have power seats.

Yes, the passenger seat is not powered, so it will get a drawer. there is also one for the dash beneath the light switch panel. I might do that too. I probably will get the JE Design rear wing spoiler. I am pricing it now through NAM (North American Motorsports).

I should get the calipers replaced Saturday, so I can take some pics then. I have a grainy one (cell phone picture) I will include now tho.

Welcome to the club. I hail from Overland Park Kansas and used to live in the St. Louis area in 90s when I worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in the 1010 Pine building downtown. Enjoy your new Eos. My Eos has about 10K miles and a year on the road so far and am still very happy with my choice. Has never been back to the dealer except to replace a broken winshield  and for the 5000 mile oil change service.

Regarding the storage bin in the dash, the US Eos model have a steel front impact protection piece that goes across under the drives side, I decided against doing the bin as I did not want the hassle of removing it.

Good luck with your projects.

Hey there! Thanks for the greeting. So, I have begun my adventure of upgrading my car. So far I have my wheels, red brake calipers, and the underseat drawer (german oem product). I am purchasing a body kit within a few months, still trying to decide which one I want. After that I will start on performance tuning - after I have developed a very good working relationship with my dealer service center!
