Hi, this is my first post, as i have just taken delivery of a new EOS, 20 TDI Sport in Silver, and I am having a few issues within the 1st few weeks.
having read some of the posts on here, I can see that living with an EOS
has its ups and downs ;-) but to be honest i was not expecting the below

* The centre armrest has a flaw in 2 places of the material - minor - hopefully an easy fix

* At around 2500 Revs, in both 5th and 6th Gear there is a loud vibration / resonating sound coming from somewhere within the dashboard. i have tried pushing nad prodding various parts of the dash, but the sound seems to be behind the radio or deeper inside the dash. Obviously this is hugely frustrating, as i spend the majority ofmy time driving the car up and down the motorway from somerset to London, with this strange rattle drowning out the radio. The vibration sound only starts around 2500 and goes after around 2700 ish.

* Lastly, whilst in my first rain storm last night, both the plastic areas between the front windows and rear view mirrors started to also make a strange vibration sound. As this is the first time I have driven in the wet, i am hoping this was a one off, but will keep you posted.

I look forward to anybodys comments, and if any of you have had similar problems....

Hi, welcome to the club.
I have not had any vibration problems associated with the engine but this may be peculiar to the diesel engine and resonance at a particular frequency. Perhaps some of the other TDi owners can add to the thread.
May be a case of taking back to the dealer for investigation.

Regards

Hi, I have a TDi I cannot say I have heard any vibration at speed sometimes when the car is ticking over you can feel a slight vibration but this comes and goes (presume something in the engine bay is at work) this was the same as my golf TDi and that never gave me a day of trouble so I am not to concerned about this either.

Might be a visit to the dealer. Best of luck:eek:

Hi,Your rattle/vibration may be the bracket that holds the clutch slave cylinder pipe,Its position is on/from the ABS pump/block/ecu,if you bend it up slightly it stops the metallic vibration at a certain rev speed/pitch,common fault on the new passats
