Hello all from sunny Southern California! Happy and proud to have found this site and be a new EOS owner. Have had the car for about 3 weeks now and I LOVE IT! Have had the top down or the sun roof open most of the time, between the fires and the rain. No leaks yet! Love the bluetooth thru the RNS510 Navi with touchscreen, it is awesome! ;)

Congrats on the new car: I am enjoying the snow up here in WI, however have to go out to the garage and admire the baby once in a while. Miss having the top down. She will stay parked most of the winter now, with the ocasional use only when two vehicles are needed.

My rule here in Virginia is temp over 55 equals open air! (of course it was only 25 when I left the house this am so I put the heated seats to good use!).

Congrats on your new Eos and enjoy. You'll find this site informative and addictive! I've learned so much here.

Me Too

Hi

I was on here a few months ago asking about the EOS and got some good comments. I decided in the end not to buy a new EOS and have recycled - I'm now the proud owner of a VW EOS 2.0 TSI Sport DSG Cabriolet, Shadow Blue 56 (Jan 07), Beige Nappa Leather, Climate Control 2Zone, Cruise Control, iPod Connectivity, RCD 300 radio.

I am now officially in love!

The only downside I would say is that the Radio isn't MP3 (I know I have iPOD connectivity, but it would have been the icing on the cake as my previous car had a MP3 CD player, so have loads of discs), and that it doesn't show track details when playing the iPOD, but it's a small price to pay for such a sexy car.

I even had my top off on Sunday - probably looked like a complete prat, but it was a gorgeous crisp day. Roll on Summer. :D

Rcd300 Mp3

There are MP3 versions of the RCD 300 available on eBay. I switched mine over last year, and sold my original unit for about £20 less.

Thanks for this nail z gull - are the radio units really easy to install or would I need to go to a (VW) garage to put it in?

I am a little gutted as I was told the car had MP3 and 6 cd changer but I can't even find the changer. Oh well, at least the car is still very sexy even without it!

They're very easy to install.

Gently remove the surround, then there's 4 screws holding the unit it. Undo them then the whole unit slides out.

All the cabling is in a single connector, apart from the aerial. So it's a case of switching the 2 over to the new unit and sliding it back in to the dash.

It really is a 5 minute job.

As for the 6CD - if you have the RCD500 all 6 disks will go in the same slot in the head unit - there isn't a separate changer on those. Again, MP3 versions of this can be found on ebay but cost a little bit more.
