There is work to do with an uncertain result depending on what electronics modules and versions are already there. You will need to read the existing codes and recode a replacement steering module. If your EOS is a Hi-Line spec. you are most of the way there, but it's probably mid or low-line? Parts needing changing and careful selection are: The wheel, a short wiring harness with MFSW button connector, clock spring (slip ring) probably, and an upgraded steering control module. Don't mention 'paddles', MY07 is manual and I don't need that function if it's missing.

The last item is the elephant in the room as they are hard to find used and there are many variations. You best bet is to try to find a boneyard Hi-Line EOS about the same year and get everything used from that car, including airbag, but you could use the old one. Unfortunately, used parts sellers know these items are a sought after conversion and set high prices. IMHO buying dealer new is far to expensive for the gain.

I now have a collection of parts ready to try, but could fall flat on the steering control module version I bought which is for an older Hi-Line, but then MY07 EOS is older mid-line spec. and the Hi-Line compatible module I eventually found was the same older firmware version and year as mine. Search for Golf MK V/6 MFSW upgrade.
