Saw this today. The forthcoming Peugeot 308CC - one of the Eos' competitors in Europe - will be getting the option of an SLK-like airscarf.

VW please take note. I would like this feature on the Eos Mk2, please :)

Personally, I think those seats are a bit OTT for a Peugeot, but the airscarf is a great idea (albeit a nicked one) :)

Hot air supplied to the back of your neck. Look carefully and you can see a mesh air vent just below the headrest part of the seat. Mercedes were the first to come up with this idea a couple of years ago on their SLK roadster.

Its just another sign that the END IS NEAR when the pampered need cool/hot air blown on their necks.

I strongly doubt that I will ever feel this air stream on any car I buy unless its standard equipment.

Its a peugeot need we say more?

I looked at all the other hard top convertible around before i chose the eos, i test drove the renault megane, 307cc, 206cc and the astra twintop.

And it was nothing compared to the eos, im not really that bothered about keeping my neck warm i'd wear a scarf if i was that bothered :)

In my mind, the problem is not so much at the front. I think Volkswagen should come up with ways to keep passengers at the back a bit warmer as on many occasions I had to sacrifice the pleasure of having the roof down because people at the back (children as well as adults) were getting too cold, even with the heating set to its highest settings.

Don't think there's ever a way rear-seat passengers in any convertible would be comfortable with the roof down in the UK. Only in a very warm climate where the draught is warm (and perhaps on the one day a year in the UK when it's that warm!) would it be acceptable in the back I think.

Perhaps extra blowers + heated seats would help. :p

I'm not sure of the benefits of the air scarf, sounds like an expensive gimmick. Just having a rear wind deflector seems sufficient to me in stopping cold air blowing on the back of the neck.

I agree. Why they cant make a windbreak to cover the back seats i dont know. Like Tintin said, my children often get cold but we are fine in the front. Mind, I did buy a lovely big fleece to go over their legs! Cream of course to match the interior!
