Help required from our Canadian EOS forum section please.
Pat & I snowmobile in Quebec region every January/February. For some reason our mobile (cell) phones will only txt in and out while we are there. Each time back home in the U.K. Vodaphone say they just cant understand why!! Very helpful.
Is it possible to buy a Pay as you Go sim card (we both have unlocked phones) while we are there to use as well as top up cards? (Preferably at Montreal airport so we can sort them while we are there.) We really only need the phone to work for emergencies or to let the hotel we are staying overnight elsewhere so they don't send the snomo police out looking for us.

If your phone is unlocked then you should be able to use a SIM from over the pond.

If you know anyone on another network then ask if you could try their SIM in your phone. If it works and you can make normal calls then it's a fairly safe bet the phone is unlocked.
