All,

I had to put in about 500ml of oil today after about 2000 miles driving....

Just curious (probably only in the Turbo engine, but all welcome to answer!) about how much Oil people have had to use....

Put in a quart this morning, 3,600 miles. I hear there is a little oil consumption with the turbo. First service due soon.

I have 7000 miles now, I had to put in about a half quart in the first 2000 miles, none since.

I needed to top up with 250 - 300ml after 5,000 miles.

8k miles - no top up required, which does surprise me for a diesel. My A3 2.0 tdi used to drink the stuff.

I typically add about 1/2 quart every 1000 miles. Seems excessive to me and spoke with my dealer about this. They say VW considers even 1 quart every 1000 miles to be normal

Had to add a quart at 4000 miles (since my 10K service).

After seeing this thread, yesterday I checked the oil level. I have to admit that I haven't check it at all up to now. In fact, I don't remember every opening the hood to check the engine (either during the 3 months I've had the vehicle or even at the dealers lot when I picked it out.

Today's engines fill up so much space you can't see anything anyway. Sometimes I wonder how they squeeze everything in up front.

Anyway, I have just over 2000 miles on the clock and the oil stick indicates full.
