I absolutely love my Eos, but I do seem to be spending an awful lot on petrol. at present I seem to be averaging between 24/26mpg. OK I have come out of a Passat diesel that had a phobia of being filled up, so the Eos is a habitual drinker in comparison. Is this normal???????

I haven't reset my No. 2 computer and in the last 5000 miles I've averaged 31.5 mpg. And I DON'T hang about!

So your mpg figures don't look good. You must have an extraordinarily heavy right foot...

I'd keep an eye on it over the next thousand kilometres, Denny. Your numbers look quite low .... but a lot depends on what kind of driving you do and your driving style. If you do a lot of city driving it can really drag the average down. Virtually all of my driving is on country roads at about 90 kph, and I consistently average about 37 mpg which is about as good as anyone can reasonably expect. But that's 50% better than you get so definitely worth watching.

Hi Denny,

Although your figures (fuel) don't look great, as Schoolhousefred says a lot depends on both the style of your driving and also where you do most of your driving such as urban. We live in the country at the top of a large hill and I would also say that we do about 20-30% urban driving. Driving wise we would drive swiftly but not hard and other than the odd blow out acceleration is average. Yet we find that we get between 15-20% below the combined figures.

Do you have an idea how you previous cars economy faired combined to published figures. As long as nothing other than the car has changed then you can expect similar mileage % wise.

Same here matey, came from a VAG diesel and I have been nearly caught short twice with the thirsty beast. I do a lot of long journeys as well but still only average 29mpg. The 2.0T is such a little screamer I cant help but make it scream. Am I being cruel!

On my MFD, it says 30.5 mpg over the last 3500 miles. My driving is very varied from motorway blasts to being stuck in urban traffic jams. I'm quite happy with this figure, especially for a car that has this performance.
