Hi guys,

Off work today so just been perusing the net looking at cars (how sad am I?). Motorprovider.co.uk are selling an Eos 2.0T Sport at £20.995 and got four in stock. UK spec, extra for road tax but identical in every way to the UK supplied Eos. Main difference is only two year warranty as the third year is normally supplied by UK dealers. My dealer said you would get less for a parallel import when it comes to part ex (but they would say that wouldn’t they!) Any one out there bought a parallel import?

Cheers, David

We bought a toyota celica parallel import from a now ex toyota garage. They were selling both parallel and toyota imports. Obviously toyota didn't like it, and the garage lost it's franchise. We had a difficult time when we tried to part exchange the car, with some garages not even looking at it. I think in the end we lost out about £1000 because it was a parallel import, it might have been less if we had sold it privately.

They are correct in that if you sell within the first three years, you will get less, BUT you might still be quids in. The issue I have is that I do sell early and 80-90% of punters dont like imports. Also, if you do buy a lemon, like a couple of people on here, I wouldnt like to go through the rejection process with people like Motorpoint or Trade Sales. Watched the issues some of the Subaru owners had over warranty with Motorpoint. The saving isnt worth it foe me.

You take the risk, but you could do well.
