hi all just wondered if you all have same problem as we do when parking your eos. we always park where there is no other cars on the car park (you almost need to catch a bus) but you can guarentee when we come back to the car someone has parked next to us. the problem is people dont take care when getting out there cars and just bang their door on your car or let there kids do it they dont understand how we have to save our hard earned cash to buy our pride and joy they leave scratches and dents and just walk away, although its a good job my hubby dont catch them doin it he would kill them, i find it so annoying i wouldnt dream of scratching someones car

I agree with you 100%!!!!

I would rather get a taxi from the parking space to the mall than risk parking where some chav bangs the car whilst opening their doors!!

I have always been like this, not just with the EOS!

Shame you are in the midlands... Probably a little too far away to come and see us in Watford next Sunday!!!!

A car next to mine would be good!. I always seem to be like a magnet to 4x4s and these bloody things that look down on you. I find these people worse they don't even seem to care about leaving you enough room to open your doors:(

Aaaaarrghhh, dont get me started on parking esp in supermarkets. Since my Eos I have become paranoid about parking, every bloody trip is thought through with military precision, I tend to go to the far flung edges of the car park where you need a shuttle bus to reach the store, hey its all exercise!! not a car, trolley or oik in sight, thats until I enter the store then its like a beadles about sketch. on my return, the spaces adjascent to mine have been taken. My lovely shiney Eos is boxed in from every angle, its like an island of cars around mine, then acres of unoccupied spaces. I have the tracksuit family in their mpv, way to pre occupied eating doughnuts and belching to pay any heed of whats around them as they lunge in and out of their vehicle like exocet missiles. The local emos setting up a skateboard park and the Dad out teaching his kid to drive, but of course they are working on reversing, yes in the direction of my car.
Do these people not understand that I have Very long doors, and a sparkling shiney dent free car.
I have now found a solution that works a treat, no more pre planning, tracksuit families, skateboarders and learner drivers its www.sainsburys.co.uk

It always takes me ages to choose a parking space, and I rarely park in supermarket car parks at all. If I do it's right at the opposite side of the car park, at a time that's relatively quiet so not much chance of it filling up.

My parking space at work is quite small but fortunately I know those that park either side of me. I manage to work into a conversation how I tend to check the car every time I return to it, so they are now so paranoid of dinking it they always leave me with plenty of room on both sides.

I dread the day that I discover the (inevitable) first dent.

my first dent came a matter of weeks after I got mine... in a supermarket in france.... it ws then swiftly followed by some nice person deciding to reverse around the passenger side front bumper.. from the side to the front... plenty of them!!!!! I very nearly cried... but I Was in shock by the fact that the roof had a hole in it and the garage was trying to say it was a cigarette burn!!!grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:mad:

Well I was not parking but sitting dead still at a traffic light making a left turn and a lady driving a SUV bumped me from the rear. It was just a little nudge but still scared the hell out of me and made me so sick that I just dreaded getting out and looking at the damage. My life flashed before my eyes.

The only damage was to the bumper, a little rinkle next to the license plate and two scratches from the screws on her plates. The first thing I did was get under the trunk and look for any bent parts, then checked the trunk for any damage, The top was up so put it up and down a couple times.

She said well not that much damage to which I replied. "This is my wife's car and she is letting me drive it this week, it's only two months old and 1800 miles, we're calling the police and file a report. If I were driving my truck or our other car we would shake hands and go our own way but not this car."

Anyway there was no ticket, she admited fault and we notified the insurance companies. Insurance adjuster estimated $346 to paint the bumper and take out the small rinkle. Her insurance is paying and no ding on my insurance.

I did not tell my wife until after work. Made sure she was in a good mood then took her outside to see the damage. Love my wife, she took it well just will not let me live it down for the next 10 years. First thing she did was call our daughter in law and told her that I had a accident with the baby.

Now you talk about parking away from everyone! I'll be on the grass at the end of the parking lot. That is, when I get the keys!

Cars are social creatures. They don't like being alone. It doesn't matter if you park on the moon there will always be another one either side when you come back to it...

For a while I was ok as supermarkets etc would let me park in the disabled bit post accident, but now as I'm almost walking on my own, I tend to find the emptiest part of the car park, but if i'm tired I just find 2 spaces and then park like a selfish person go over the line! So far no scratches or dents! :D

OI!!!! Leave us 4X4 owners alone!!! :D My other car is a Touareg and we find it picks up its fair share of marks from drivers with smaller cars!! We now park miles away from any supermarket - although we avoid that now and get ocado.com to deliver our shopping!

I find my EOS door is huge though - ( i have driven a 5 door car for years so not sure if it IS bigger or just the same as other 3 doors)and so I park across lines or on end spaces like others. So far (touch wood) I have avoided any damage

Seems to be a common problem with owners that are proud of their cars. I picked up a bonnet scratch on my Corolla that looks like someone put something like a briefcase down on it and then slid it off.
