I am wondering if anyone has some reliable performance figures for the australian sold, petrol eos (147KW), such as: 0-100kmh; 0-120; 0-140; 0-160; and 0-160-0; and standing 400m (quarter mile). These figures were once standard in thorough road tests but are now more difficult to come by.

Only one I know of as an independent test would be 0-100kph of 7.9 seconds for the tFSI (manual) and 7.4 for the 3.2L V6.

Not finding anything conclusive.
VW US site says V6 0-60mph 6.92sec 2.0 is 7.42sec.
Car and driver tested a V6 and had 0-60 at 6.5 sec and 1/4 mile 15.1 [email protected]
Road and Track tested a 2.0 had [email protected], [email protected] sec, 1/4 mile [email protected]
Motor Trend tested a V6 and had 0-60mph at 6.7 sec, 0-100 mph 17.4sec, 1/4mile [email protected]
Motor Week tested a 2.0 [email protected], 1/4 mile [email protected] which looks like a misprint to me.
Different sources have different figures. Good luck trying to figure it all out.

... In France, those numbers are not anymore counted in seconds...

... We lately have developped a new unit of measure, named the "points"... A driver's license comes preloaded with 12 of these.. and the smaller the number of seconds to get from 0 to 100 km/h (or mph), the larger is the number of points remove'd from a driver's license ;-) :D

Sorry for this, just sharing my frustration for not having bought the V6 EOS (bought the 2.0TDI instead) last summer, just because of too many speed controls nowadays that prevent a rested, fully enjoyable drive...
:p

Am obviously not shouting for no limits or dangerous-driving, but just realize how different is driving now, becasue of every driver just spending most of her/his time looking for hidden cameras and speedmeters, rather than concentrating on driving safely and enjoying driving...

Now, the good thing is that I picked the EOS, still, because it's a convertible that allows for calm, pelasant, low-speed driving with roof open!

I would think that if you are driving to the prevailing road conditions and obeying the traffic control systems without having to worry about where they are so yo can speed would make the ride more enjoyable and safer. The only advantage of a V6 would be that you could break the laws quicker. How can you enjoy the drive of where you are if you are so concerned about how fast you can get from "point a" to "point b"? The Eos is a top down cruiser, not a race car.

Disagree a little here, the V6 is not for muscle, it's for power and smoothness. If you want sportiness then you've already got it in the 2.0TFSI if you want better performance then get it chipped and its faster than the V6 anyway for a fraction of the price.
Its nice to cruise with the top down agreed but it is a quick coupe as well and its these facts that drew me to the Eos in the first place. For me its not so much how fast I can get it to go as how quickly its gets me to the speed limit. ;)

Thanks Graham

That is my point, Graham! It's not about the maximum speed, it's about how dynamic and sporty driving can be. Roof down or roof up, no matter, just the feeling of being pushed (rather pulled in the case of the EOS) by the power, and of sticking to the road in curveous roads... :p

Agree with you here Graham, rather than Andy.

I am a keen driver and wouldn't consider a soggy cruiser type of droptop!

Hence my choice of the Eos; it's a Golf GTI with fresh air, and I tend to drive it like a Golf GTI!

Ok gang. looks like it's gang up on the Yank time. Let.s backtrack a little. The original poster asked for straightline performance figures. Most of them reflect the V6 which would be the way to go if you stick with a stock item. It will get you up to speed quicker but will not handle curvy as well due to the extra weight up front. Eos3 mentioned that his TDI Eos isn't the same as driving something like a 3 series. IT never will be unless you would want to seriously modify the Eos and then the Eos is not really an Eos any more. There are companies out there which would be happy to sell you the parts. You can modify an Eos to approximate a GTI. The Eos does a lot of things well but it is what it is, a compromise. I've never driven the kinds of exotics that you have so I'm no expert. But the Eos i have is the first car that comes anywhere near that. It gets up to 60mph real quick. I've not found any local roads where I can work the handling. I've driven it over 100mph with the top up and it is smooth and quiet. Most times I'm satisfied driving down the road at 70 with the top down and enjoying the scenery where I am. That is one of the best things of top down motoring. The car is just too much fun to drive. Yes there those of you who have that "sport car" concept of driving and that's ok too. I guess it all depends on what your experiences have been. We never bought the Eos with any thought about how it would drive. WE wanted a reasonable convertible. The wife did not like or want a soft top as she thought they were ugly and because we live where we do, a liability. We loved it for it's top/sunroof concept and the color combination. We paid more than we probably should have but have no regrets.

Thanks Andy. Nice summary. Agree that the EOS feels best at limited speed wih roof down.. Yet those nice little kicky accelerations just feel so good, even from 0 to 50 or from 40 to 70 (speaking km/h...)... And we still have no figures of acceleration performance ;-)

E3, I have only been able so far to find one figure you may be seeking. It comes from Eos V6 vs C70 comparison test done by Motor Trend. They have a 45-65 mph passing test @3.3 second. Hope that helps.

In this site there is data for almost every serial car in the world.
I suppose you'll have problems with the language,so:

2.0i 16V FSI 150h.p 0-100km - 9.8s 210km/h max
2.0i 16V TFSI 200h.p 0-100km - 7.8s 232km/h max
2.0 TDI PDE 140h.p 0-100km - 10.3s 206km/h max
